"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Also, does anyone keep banty's with their full size chickens?
It really depends on your individual flock! I have had birds that will fight anything new you put in their pen.

I currently have a small flock of layers paired with a Maran roo, and they aren't bothered by much of anything! I put silkie roosters in there and baby ducks. They aren't bothered by them in the least!

Thanks! I've never had banty's before... had chickens for several years now, but never banty's. Our TSC has some. I think I might go check them out. Fuzzy butt fever

We have dish satellite TV, but they don't offer Internet service in our area!
When we were in a FEMA trailer in MS. after Katrina, we tried to get a phone put in and instead of putting the wire to the trailer, AT&T only ran it to the temporary pole the electric meter was on. It was sort of like "Green Acres"! We had to take the phone outside to the pole to make a call!
I am with you all the way on AT & T. I had the same issues with their Internet not working at my house and with our phones only working when the clouds parted above the house. Then they sent me defective phones that were supposed to be new with renewals. After a heated battle and they refused to send us anything but refurbs again, I dropped all of our lines with them except mine since it is under contract until May. Then I'm gone. I got daughter and hubby Straight Talk phones with internet service much cheaper than what I had been paying AT & T. Ended up getting internet through Dish satellite--We get 27 megs? of service a month and it's as fast as dsl. I pay $70 for it.

Won't make the mistake of using AT & T for anything ever again.
I am wondering what next month will be, they quoted $40 for internet alone, but there are always other FEES that don't tell you about till the bill comes!
We're stuck with ATT also! (and you get 27 MB per second for $70??? That's awesome! actually its mega-bit for internet, which is 8 to a megabyte. We pay ATT $43 for 6! and we got an email last night that it's going up) All we can get is ATT or suddenlink, which goes out everytime the wind blows. When suddenlink goes out it doesn't come back up for weeks! The nearest service center is in Shreveport, so we are last priority, ATT it is. It will be the only option once we move other than dial up (P.S don't pay for dial up. Its free)

As far as phones, I got one for Christmas and Mom and Dad got new ones so we're stuck there for 2 years. THEN they charged us like $100 extra 2 months in a row. (how many times will they charge "one-time" fees) When we called to complain, it costed us $10... Worst customer service ever. We had to call recently about our internet to. $80 to fix it... We just bought all new equipment ourselves for cheaper. DO NOT get stuck with them.
Wow, they were charging you $200 for a one time $10 fee? Wow

Hey Celie!

was wondering where you've been! sorry about all the phone/internet woes! you're right about the trees; our big old pecan trees have not even thought about budding yet; so there's still a couple of weeks of winter left -- and we have to get the "Easter snap" too!
I remember an Easter in the 80's that the daytime temps stayed in the twenties! Please let us know when your pecan trees start to bud out?

I hope it's a SHE. I will probably wait a month or two before I try to handle her to look under there to see what it is. I don't like the feeling of getting bitten by a silly Wabbit.

Julie, look at her neck. If she has that sort of double chin where they pull hair from to line their nests, it's a girl, if not, it's a boy rabbit!

I would still wait a month before breeding her and worm her. Rabbits that live on the ground get worms. Not so much inthe winter, but during the summer, they get them. That's why people don't hunt rabbits during hot weather, most of them get worms!

Anyone for sure know what a Cornish rock chick looks like? Just got some "pullets" from TSC and they didn't know the breed. I'm afraid they are Cornish rock and I don't want Cornish rock.

Hello yall sorry havent been popping in very often been crazy with a lil sick one. Was wandering if anyone around lc had any baby ducks looking for something i can raise then maybe eat later on thank yall and ill try to keep in touch a lil better :)
I have duck eggs in the incubator right now. Some are Muscovys and some are Pekins. I just put them in last weekend so they won't hatch until the end of the month.

I really like my Pekins because they can't fly all over the neighborhood.

I have ducks in the bator also! The first set of 6 goes on lockdown Sunday and the 2nd set of 7 goes on lockdown on the 15th. Does anyone here have Cayugas?

LAMike does! I'll be making a trip up there in a couple weeks. If he has any available I can pick them up and bring them back down with me. A trip to Lake Charles is still shorter than a trip to Haughton!
