"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I don't see why not....you just need a bigger container...

Ya think? How big do you think?

I would think one of those big plastic food grade barrels would work. You just need to be able to stir it twice daily...add more feed as needed to keep it going. I just started mine yesterday in a 5 gallon bucket and I bought a plastic sieve to scoop it out/drain it. Metal will corrode due to the acidity levels so make sure your bowls/feeders etc are not metal either...

Once your flock starts eating less and less feed you may be able to cut back on the amount you are mixing/adding. Just see how it goes I guess...that's what I'm doing :) trial & error!

Ok.

I'm nervous about fermented feed. I think I need to do more research.

I based mine off info in the link above...

I did grind up some seeds and added some flax to it as well...but you don't have too. Then it was just add feed...covered with 5-6" water and 1/4 cup unpasturized ACV with mother. Stir, cover with towel...wait 24-48 hours to serve/feed. You do need to stir it twice daily for the duration to keep it going. Then you just add more feed & water as needed.

I went out of town this weekend and I had my neighbor to come over and pick eggs and feed and water. All I can say is "WOW". I think it was too overwhelming for her.

At least she tried to help out. :/
