"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

So, I just wanted to share this with everyone. Our new exhibition club, the Gulf Coast Poultry Fanciers Association FINALLY have our logo finished. After weeks of design, debate, voting, and editing.....here it is.......

Love it! AWESOME design!!! Really, really nice.

Love the logo and my opinion on the breed is EE also.

I have an update on my chicks that were (are still) shaking their heads. They were already put together when I realized what they were doing. I figured they all had mites already. BUT, I've never been able to see the mites. I've changed their bedding back to towels that I change every day. I dust them with DE every morning. This has not changed a thing. I did buy Sevin Dust, but haven't had the nerve to use it yet.

I did do some research and after listening to one of the baby orpingtons cheep hoarsely, I may have an answer. It's possibly Gallid herpesvirus 1. There is such limited info, actually the same info on every website I found. There is nothing saying that the birds are no longer contagious after they survive the virus. There would be a longer separation from my original flock so they wouldn't get it, but now if I can't ever bring these 10 little guys outside with the others, I don't know what to do! They have been together over a week now and all are still doing ok, but still shaking heads. A neighbor is about to give us some seramas she hatched, but keeping 3 groups of birds apart for the long haul may be too much.
