congrats to all of you!

Missy so sorry about the egg - at least you tried & it was a learning experience.

Welcome to BYC Amylou -- you may as well go as large as you can on your coop and run, because you'll be wanting to add more chickens before you know it! My husband still teases me about how "I just wanted 3 chickens" to start with. Now I have 13 in my flock plus 5 "teenagers" plus 5 2 week olds - and four peacocks!

Well my apt for NPIP testing is this Thursday! I hope it all goes well.

Who's your tester Mike? Dr. Daniel Myrick is doing mine. I've known Danny since he got out of vet school; he interned at the clinic I use. Very nice guy. He said he'd be out around mid morning Thursday- going to call me, I only live 3 miles from where I work so I'll just leave them locked up in the coop & run home when he calls.

Sure hope he doesn't want to do the peas; they are just now starting to settle down in their new run & I have no way of locking them up - I don't think they're old enough to need testing as they aren't even a year old yet.

Good luck Terri & Mike!! It'll be easy as pie and you'll be so glad it's done when your through!!

You know we really need to count ourselves lucky that they do our testing for free. You read so much on here about states charging $2,000 to come out and do it. It's just not fair. Especially once your NPIP you have to purchase from another NPIP person.

And thanks Terri and your right, I learned alot dealing with that one egg!!

Amy, seriously go as big as you have the room and that you can afford. Cause it will never be big enough!!

Thanks Julie! My batch that's in the hatcher on day 22 one finally pipped! I was really starting to get worried!!

ETA: Actually while I'm sitting at the table playing on my laptop it hatched! And have 2 more that have pipped!!
