"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

400

So this is my little Delaware pullet, don't know if her leg is broken or dislocated. She hops around on one leg. My question is, if she's eating and drinking, doesn't seem sick or depressed, should I cull or let her be? It's been this way about 2-3 weeks. It's not an option to bring to the vet, but don't want her to suffer....

Just seeing your post.

What does the bottom of her foot look like? Do you have an area that you can place her in for a week or so so that she can have quiet time to give her leg time to heal?

On a lighter note:

This is the BEST seasoning mix EVER!!!!  It's very simple.  Please note that the cayenne part of the mix, I started with just a little until I could judge how hot my kids would like it.  I have found for our family that 1tsp of cayenne works for us.

Here it is:

4 TBSP  +  3 TBSP  +  2 TBSP   +  1 TBSP  =
kosher                 brown                sweet                cayenne
salt                      sugar               paprika                 pepper

Enough spice rub for two whole chickens.  Double or triple the recipe and put extra in ziplock bag.

Try it...it's become a favorite at our house!!!  I make a ton and put the extra in a ziplock.

:drool

Sounds good. I will try this. Thanks for sharing. :)

I don't buy crawfish......like ever. But as I passed these in the store this afternoon I wondered......China or USA??? Left is China, Right is USA. Don't you think the price should be the other way around???
They make it hard to sell us made items. How can the shipping from China possibly be cheaper than the wages here?

Just an update on the "spots" on some of my girls combs. Two still have them (but just a little spot or two), but most seem to have healed and are almost completely gone. I have never seen any other evidence of a problem. My poor girls have been examined a couple times a day from top to bottom.

I did get some vanilla car scents from Walmart. They were Armand Hammer ones, probably a little more expensive than I would have liked, but time was an issue. My entire coop area smells very vanilla. Hmmmm....but bugs seem almost nonexistent.

So, I almost think the "spots" were either fly or gnat related?

Since the one egg that was eaten last week, I haven't had any other problems. So, so far so good. I'll keep my fingers crossed. I'm up to three laying!

Hope everyone is doing well,
Laurie

Kuntrygirl,

Thanks for asking. Yes, all is well. About the wine...... Weeeeeeelllllllll, I didn't experiment and mixed a couple different wines. I kinda fell asleep at 9:00 PM and woke up at 8:00 AM one morning. I sure needed that rest. But probably will not mix anymore wines. Well, unless I want a peaceful night's rest.

I'm back now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :p

Good to know about the spots.

Has anyone ever received one of those letters from an attorney's groups explaining about a "class action suit" filed on your behalf against some telemarketing company or some company calling your home using these automated phone calls "robocalls" ? ADT Security Services is one example.

A robocall is a phone call that uses a computerized autodialer to deliver a pre-recorded message, as if from a robot, hence the name. Robocalls are often associated with political and telemarketing phone campaigns, but can also be used for public-service or emergency announcements. Some robocalls use personalized audio messages to simulate an actual personal phone call.

When I get a few answers, and hopefully yes with a few of you, then I will tell you why I posted this question.
