"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Also, post a list of "most wanted" so that we would know what to send. We "take care of our own"!!
Our federal government won't, they are too busy taking care of all the illegals, I watch the news, too, but the American citizens do take care of our own! We just have to be aware of what they are and where to send them!

For 2 weekends in a row, I have made THE BEST meals (beef veggie soup one weekend and turkey chilli this past weekend) and I could bet a thousand dollars that I can not go back and recreate the same meal with the same seasonings, etc. That makes me so mad. But I'm glad that I made a big gumbo pot of both meals and I was able to free a lot of stuff.

However, I did enjoy a nice glass of muscadine wine and I made a 10 egg (duck eggs) pound cake. I cut the pound cake up in slices and froze them as well. I can't get my freezer fast enough.

Great idea, haven't had pound cake in a very long while! The wine looks good too !

All sounds FABULOUS!!! I have been craving a beef vegetable soup!!!! I never pass up a good chili either! I don't think I need to mention the wine, but seldom do I meet one that doesn't work for me!

Do you have the recipee for the 10 egg pound cake? Or, tell me where to look for it. I'm assuming you can use chicken eggs. We are turning into a regular egg factory!!! LOVE IT!!

We always have too many eggs, especially in the summer, so I make a lot of custard pudding and pies and lots of good premium ice cream, to use as many as I can. Lots of eggs, is what makes the best Macaroni and cheese, too. I use at least a dozen to a pound of macaroni. Eggs are eggs, duck eggs are a little thicker, so the whites make a lot of meringue. Put more yolks in your custards for a richer taste and make Meringue cookies out of the whites, if the humidity isn't high.

I am making myself hungry, now!

The brand I buy has probiotic in the feed. You don't need to ferment it. It you do it ferments overnight. It smells like fresh bread dough after soaking overnight. Pam
If you add beer to your FF, it will only take a few hours, yeast is what you are smelling, at least partly!

Check it out!

It must be fun at your house on Halloween !!!

You are welcome. That is the ONE thing that I haven't had or used in years and I foolishly went out and bought some JUST for this recipe.

YUCK !!!!!!!!!

Crisco and powdered sugar is also the filling in Oreos ! Yuck !

Hey guys. I'm new to turkeys and I wondered if you could help me sex the 3 that I hatched this spring? "Fat Pat" and "Large Marge" "Pat" Marge And last of all "Big Mac" the Royal Palm who wasn't cooperating well for pics.
I can't help you with your turkey question, They are cute. I did get to see some full grown chickens like your chicks. They are so adorable. Big personalities for such small birds. Please post more pic's as they grow. I found a breeder in tenn. that has crested cream legbars .I will call them tomorrow to see if they still have chicks to sell. I'll let you know if your still interested.Pam

:thumbsup    Great post!  It seems these days that "people" are rewarded more for NOT doing what they are supposed to do, rather than doing what is RIGHT and RESPONSIBLE!   Something for nothing...:barnie
WOW!!! Sounds so familiar! Our story is so very similar. And don't get me started on the worthless, lazy people who make being on the system their career!! I didn't take a loan either and me and my daughter were late returning to our home (which was only 5mo old when Katrina hit) and was offered the food stamp card being told everyone was getting it and that it was disaster relief funds. Well let me tell you what a relief it was.... 5 yrs later I receive a letter stating I was overpaid 5k and hadn't wages garnished for a year!! I will never again take anything from the state or Gov. That's why now I am doing all that I can to live off the land the way my ancestors did, and take care of my daughter and all our needs on my own.

th.gif
Those are the something for nothing people. If that was your only source of food you would know that your card only had $0.49 on it.

The same people that during a blackout, start looting and carrying 52 inch TVs out of department stores!

GO FLORIDA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NOW LET"S ARREST THE FOOD STAMP FRAUDERS IN LOUISIANA!!!!!!!!
smack.gif
I'll vote for that !

Yes, those people were wrong and should be held accountable. However, in my book, they should arrest the WalMart corporate people while they were at it. The article says they were aware of the glitch and permitted these people to continue to use their cards. Quote from the news report, ".... the cards weren't showing limits and they called corporate Wal-Mart, whose spokesman said to let the people use the cards anyway."

In my book that is aiding and abetting and fraud. They KNEW these people had insufficient funds to pay for the things in their cart but processed the orders anyway. Their would have been no crime had WalMart refused to keep accepting the cards beyond the $50 emergency limit. Now, you can bet WalMart is going to expect to be reimbursed for the goods they sold: They aren't a charity after all.

Just my two cents.
I don't think Wal-Mart should be reimbursed ! They know people don't get $700 in food stamps, do they? Wow that's almost my whole month's income!!!

Ron wonders about me sometimes because I like shows about terrible crimes and the science of how they got caught. He wonders if I'm studying up to get rid of him. Hahahaha !! I'd never do that !!! But he should alway be on his best behavior !! HAHA!!! He thinks I'm morbid. Pam

You sound too much like me now ! It drives Hubby crazy, but every man, in my neighborhood, is a little afraid of me, when they see me coming around from the backyard with a bloody knife in my hand after processing an animal. Even the cops turn around in someone else's driveway and head in the other direction. They say their wives just don't do those deeds!!!
We let our neighbor use one of our pastures for his horses. He called this past Sunday and said that his boys wanted to get a calf and could he keep it in the pasture too? We said sure. Welllllll....It's a Brahma bull, about 1/3 grown. Neighbor said "don't go int the pasture because he will charge you". REALLY?!?!?!?!?!

PLUS, my dogs have been BARKING AT THAT D*MN BULL SINCE SUNDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't take it anymore and put my two older dogs up in the barn. My catahoula pup (1yr) Bleu I left loose, because he will stay around the house without his "partner in crime" to explore with. He is even barking!!!! NONSTOP FOR HOURS!!!!!!! I'm in the office on that side of the house doing quarterly taxes. I"M GOING CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
barnie.gif
Anyone want a bull? You can come get him at midnight???
barnie.gif
He would make a great BBQ.

Marge

Looks like 3 hens, to me, by the line of feathers going up the back of the heads and the small snoods. If they are all the same breed, hatched at the same time, there should be a pretty big difference in size and weight by this age and toms have thicker legs than hens, too!
love.gif
Around mid December, start watching for eggs!
Never once did I say anything about laziness. You have paid taxes in your life. So I wasn't talking about you. I was talking about people who work the system. Ones who can work but don't. It was meant to be a hand up not a hand out. Sorry if a touched nerve. But I do think you read things in what I wrote that weren't their. Pam
I didn't think for a minute that you were talking about me ! I was just agreeing and sorry if I came across otherwise!

Ron just told me most dogs and bulls don't mix. When he lived up north he lived next to a farm. He had to pay the farmer for the bull because his dog chased it till it dropped dead. I would have thought the bull would have killed the dog. He said not when their is more than one dog, The other time he gave a dog to a farmer same outcome he didn't have to reimburse the farmer. The farmer did give him his dog back.
