Yes, Pam, I have been in business myself Owned and operated 2 construction companies, building single family homes and Federally subsidized single family homes. Worked with subs from 5 in the morning till dark, sometimes 5 houses going on at once, all different stages, then with clients/customers and prospectives till after 10PM. Could not even go to the grocery without someone recognizing me to pick my brain. Got total burnout, because I was still raising a family and had 10 rentals, and you know how that is. Never rented a place I would not live in myself and kept them in top shape, but some tenants can tare up a place fast, like a neighbor's pet squirrel getting into the attic and eating the insulation off the A/C ductwork and not telling me until the kitchen ceiling starts falling in! Than later, bought a marina on Grand Isle that became a money pit in a den of thieves! But don't get me started on that one. When I was young, often went hungry and was Thankful on Thanksgiving for a pancake dinner. No shame in being poor, as a kid, and homeless for 3 years after Katrina and Rita, but there is shame in staying that was out of LAZYNESS, IMHO !
Never once did I say anything about laziness. You have paid taxes in your life. So I wasn't talking about you. I was talking about people who work the system. Ones who can work but don't. It was meant to be a hand up not a hand out. Sorry if a touched nerve. But I do think you read things in what I wrote that weren't their. Pam
