"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Beautiful chicks! Nice brooder! Gorgeous fleur-de-lis drawing! There are sure some talented people here!
Hope the sick ones get better soon.
Half asleep here, boss is out for training next 2 days so I had to come in early. *yawn* tomorrow also, but hope to leave early Friday to make up for it!
Coffee….need coffee……(wanders off in search of java).

OMG!!! That is absolutely gorgeous!! A master piece indeed! I would love to purchase one, how much? You are very talented! Keep it up!
Thanks KilnChick. I haven't set a price for these yet: As of this point, any I get finished before the show are going to be in our auction or raffle. After we get past the show, I plan on working on these and calling them the Fleur de Feathers...lol. I have had two people ask to have ones made featuring their birds and choice of Fleur de Lis, so I guess I'll have to figure out a price sooner than later. I want to make them affordable, but worth doing at the same time.

I started ones for a Blue Ameraucana pullet, a pair of BB Red OEGB, Black Copper Marans Cockerel, and Dark Cornish pullet last night. I sure hope I can get at least one or two more finished in time. I also am doing a folk art Santa riding a rooster: Probably a New Hampshire or Welsummer. As if I really think I'll have time to do all that!

It really is beautiful! A wonderful talent.

MITES! We have mites...again! They seem to LOOOOOVE the duck/goose house and pen. Not sure if my chicken coop has them, but I'm going to assume they are there since the ducks/geese and chickens free range together.

Hubby sprays with something that is safe for the birds (forgot the name...sorry.) but it is obviously NOT working. I picked up a duck egg this morning that was crawling with mites. grrrrr! I went out a little while ago and powdered their whole area and house with DE. (And dusted the chickens just to be safe.) I guess the only thing I can be certain of is that ~I~ am mite free. I think I got more on me than anything else. :/

Any suggestions? I am coming to you guys because I know they are harder to kill here than other parts of the country thanks to our lovely *temerate weather* that doesn't kill anything off in the winter.
