"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

When I went through Barnes and Noble I saw that they had a super price on their Nook. The basic Nook was selling for $39!! I got the Nook HD that is also a tablet for $79. That was a big discount. This will be for my granddaughter. I think she will love it. I always let her pick out her present bec I figure it is high risk to buy her something, but I do think she will love it. I really got extravagant bec of the deal.

Gave the girls all the scraps from our plates, warmed up the concoction, piled it in an almost gutted spinach dip bowl. Warm bedtime feast for last nights freeze.

Anybody have ideas of what is useful to put in a military care package? I have a lot of room left in my box. This is what I have so far. Candy, raisins, nuts, beef jersey, tooth brush, paste, floss, soap, wash cloth, cards, comb. Any ideas I have more room in the boxes. Pam
Shampoo, conditioner, lotion
Chap stick shampoo any bathroom item even books I sent paperback books got them from a store that's sold all ready read books. or ask friends to donate their older paper backs. And this Army momma would like to also thank you

I had such a nice day with my better half! Tomorrow is our 17th anniversary and we are both so happy that he is actually home for this one. He has missed the last 2 because of military work and has missed 3 of the last 5. I understand and am cool with it when things like that happens......but he is NOT!!! We are not doing anything super out of the ordinary tomorrow......just glad we get to spend it together. I hope you all avoided any crazy shoppers today! We did some shopping and managed to avoid any nutty people!

Boy am I tired!

Call me old fashioned, but I love the feel of a book in my hand. I have a Nook myself....somewhere.... I haven't seen it in a year or two.

I'm the same way. But my granddaughter grew up in a tech world, so I think she will like a Nook. At $39 I considered buying myself one, but, like you, I like to hold a book. I think we are a dying breed.

That is wonderful for you!!!

The Peeps have gone to Black Friday shopping or hung over from too much turkey. No post for 12 hours!! Well, I'm off to do week 2 of couch to 5K and then meeting a friend to see Book Thief and rummage through Urban Outfitters, just for fun. Happy Black Friday.
I'm fixing to start on that program! No app, just following the instructions posted online.

The app is just $2.99 and well worth it. I play it on my iPhone and the voice prompts everything to do and when to stop. It's really cool bec I can't run, but I am actually running now, just a little. I love what the program said,"if you can run any slower, you are running too fast." So, I'm actually running slower than I used to walk. I like not having to time everything bec timing 1 min run then 1 1/2 min walking through 8 walks and runs sounds hard. It might download to your MP3, don't know. You go, girl!!! I'm so proud of you!! It's lots easier than I thought it would be.

With a solid book, that piece of work will still be on my shelf in 10+ years from now. Maybe something goes wrong and you spill some coffee - you only lose the one book with a real book. With something like a Nook you pay just as much and are at the whim of technology for your entire collection. Machine breaks- gone. someone steals that one thing - all gone. Plus you know that it will easily be outdated and maybe nonfunctional in 10+ years. Yeah, you can download it again.... while its available for download. Databases shift. Things get removed or shut down. Battery dies? You can't read. Maybe if the virtual copies were way cheaper, but I can't bring myself to pay the same amount when I can get a hard-copy.
