They had the cream legbars! However, I choked when I saw the price for hatchery!! I'm not criticizing hatchery, that's all that I have right now, but I am aware that the "quality" is different.

I know I looked too. that's way too much. I saw a breeder that had them in sept about that price for three. I wasn't quite ready yet for chicks. I will get them the next time I see a decent price. I knew buggles was in the market she was trying to hatch eggs at the time. Next time I'll let you know too. Pam

X2

Been thinking of you. I've been there too often this past year with much loved pets. I fear that we will be there again very soon with our Grumpy Gus. He's about 10 and has severe hip displascia. He is really slowing down and when the time comes that he is too uncomfortable, it will be time. :hit

My pom that killed the possum this week has hip dysplasia he was 4 years old. The vet wanted me to have his hip ball joint cut out. To me this sounded barbaric. He was in pain couldn't even jump on the couch anymore. I called my friend who is a vet and teaches at U of Ohio she asked if I had tried MSM. I hadn't tried it. I had my shepherds on Nu-Vet plus the breeder had told me about it but Buster didn't like it so I didn't push it. I went to there site to see about the Msm. They had just come out with a product called nu-joint. I ordered it Buster liked it in fact all my dogs like it. With in 3 days I noticed how much softer their coat was. I was doubling the dose for buster with in a month he started running again. Shortly after that he was jumping on the couch. This week he killed a possum. If you try it Grumpy Gus might turn back to just Gus maybe even stick around longer than you think. Pam

What kind of chickens do you have? Pam

I have a number of different breeds, partly for eye candy in the yard, partly for a pretty egg basket and partly to decide on which breed(s) I like best. At the moment I have a cream legbar, 2 black and 1 blue copper marans, 4 blue laced red wyandottes, 2 lavender orpingtons, 2 bielefelders, 2 Easter eggers and an olive egger. I got the marans and legbar as chicks in June and then decided to try my hand at hatching eggs.

I have always wanted to go to New Zealand. How beautiful. Love your chicken variety. What part of Louisiana do you live in?? There are swaps around the state. We just had a lovely chicken/fowl show at LSU in November. Welcome!!
