"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

He has mine :)
I could never get mad at him. After the last big round there was still a little cancer left. He was never completely free of it. He started eating a very pure diet no sugars or carbs, fresh whole foods. He was feeling better. But the last test showed it had spread. They told him 6 months with no treatment, 2 years with full treatment, but poor quality of life. It's his decision. He loves growing things and going to Slow Food activities, so I will take him as long as he wants to go. The disease has robbed him of his resources, so he doesn't have a car and can't fix things in his house, he has been riding his bicycle to get groceries. He. lives close to the library,so he rides there. No tv, etc. it's not been easy. I help where I can. I pray a lot for him. His name is Art. Prayers are always welcomed.

I did a round of chemo 1st. And quit. Was ready to just let nature take its course, its horrible especially if it only to "buy time" because your sick during the time you bought :( Chemo is poison & scary.
Then my new doc here in Louisiana suggested a radical hysterectomy & HDR treatment because of my type of cancer. Cervical stage 2 and an overy in stage 1 and growing. So being localized still, High Dose Radiation worked well. Honey didn't help heal that I noticed, not a cure all. It helped my guts take in nutrients needed severely and helped by adding an extra ooomph to my own immune system that the chemo and radiation treatments destroyed.
There are studies of anti cancer properties but that's not why we used it :(

For common allergies find a source of Raw honey close by. Take a teaspoon twice a day or a tablespoon if the allergies are bad, monitor how allergies are effected and continue or stop taking once desired effects are evident (no more sneezing/itching/watery eyes kinda of stuff), won't hurt to continue it. I stopped after 3 months. I stuck to small amounts to see if it worked, it did. I've read tons about larger dosing (some people add it to everything to keep it in their systems-coffee/tea/baking/and other uses), I just didn't need it for them.

Sorry about your friend. It sucks so bad. I never had anyone say anything that made me feel better when I was scared and sick. Don't take that wrong, obviously people were kind and comforting and loving but even now that I'm much healthier, I still don't have words to soothe someone going through treatments, just hold their hand.

I was going to ask you about what to do or say. This is my first close encounter with terminal cancer of a friend. I send him text hugs and give in person hugs. I told him that he has always wanted to make the most of each day and I will help with that. I told him I was sorry about the test results and sad. I just don't know. He said the chemo made him so sick that he didn't think he wanted to do that again since they offer no hope of a cure. Can you help with what to say or do? PS. When I had cervical pre-cancer, they just took everything out, but I was 42 and single.

@ They'll eat you if you trip. Didn't you know, they are already trying to trip you.

My poor daughter has been so busy. My granddaughter danced in the Nutcracker again this year and the performance she was in was last night, so that's one big thing down. For the first time she has been giving me big bags of gifts to wrap for her and to hid. My granddaughter is a huge snoop, so the hiding part has been the hardest. Lol. Maybe today I can get to wrapping mine. I start the Christmas Eve gumbo tomorrow. I cook it from the turkey carcas from Thanksgiving. It takes me 2 days, but it is so thick and rich. Yum.
Oh my YUMMMMMM!!! I am WRAPPED...except for a few odd and ends. This might be a FIRST!!!!! Still plenty to do though, so I can't get too smug!

It's Sunday folks, 3 days until Christmas. I have not wrapped 1 present yet. It's about to get crazy here. I wrap ours and my MIL gifts as well. I have been so busy this year......:p
We are in T MINUS OHHHH CR*P COUNTDOWN!!!!!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! Seriously though, I am making a huge effort in trying not to get caught up in the commercialism and remembering the REALLY important things...Christ's birth, family and friends. I promise, NOT trying to be preachy. Just my effort.

UPDATE: About Lemon's soap that I didn't want to share in the gift swap. Here's my compromise: I got some insulated "go" mugs at Sam's Club yesterday. They are pretty neat and were $15.00 plus tax. I will make up the difference ($30 limit) with a couple of bars of Lemon's soap. This is a "kinda" adult solution...well the best I'm willing to come up with!!!

Thanks for your prayers and ovations about my friend. I just talked to him. He is going to church with me Christmas Eve and back to my daughter's for gumbo. Hang out a while and I'll take him home. Someone else is picking him up Christmas Day. I asked him if he wanted some raw honey, I'd go get him some. He said he had heard great things about it but his doctor wants him to stick to the diet he is on. I would never push anything. I told him to ask his doctor about it. He said he heard about something from the Venus Fly Trap plant. I just want to be there for him.

Im telling everyone I know lol!
