Sorry, couldn't tell you the first thing about your duck other then it's a cutie. Spring of '12 my daughter hatched a dozen pure mallard (captive) eggs. Hatched out the prettiest little black and yellow mess-makers. All were slick headed except one. Every feather on its head stood straight up like this birds. From the moment it dried off from hatching till the ducks moved on at about 1 month those feathers were up. It was the cutest little duck you'd ever lay eyes on. We like to look at ducks but my daughter said ducks were 1 and done. They are messy. Happy New Year.
DEFINITELY MESSY! They free range in area about 30' wide and 180' long and it's gotten much lower/muddier since the ducks. Gonna hang on till summer..maybe.. Then have some dirt hauled in, then decide from there. Chickens still on strike, so they are the only egg layers right now. HAPPY NEW YEAR to you as well, and to all!
