Just got my catalog in from Cackle Hatchery and in it, they have the Jumbo Cornish Cross. It says that they are ready to dress in 6 weeks. They use the “Cobb 500” bloodline/strain. Pullets at 6 weeks are 4 ½ lbs and the cockerels are 5 ½ lbs. I hope that’s the dressed weight.

I just placed 4 in my cart. The final cost was $20, 316.00. Shipping was only $320.00. I haven't clicked the pay button yet.

There was a $1.00 additional charge to have them vaccinated but after spending over $20,000 on 4 of those birds. I’m broke, so I can’t get the $1.00 for vaccination for the 4 birds. CRAP!

They are an alternative to those Caymen* black Indonesian chickens.

They have black skin but not black meat like the other ones that do, I believe. Lol no golden eggs, in fact while better layers than the rarer Indonesian ones they still hardly lay compared to our more common breeds. :/ novelty buy in our book, I'd buy more land before a pair of chickens.
