"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

:( sux so bad bout the burns hope the subside soon.

Very cool your doing NPIP I'm curious about the inspectors. I always read only a percentage of the flocks get tested. Maybe the 1st time it was all then a percentage on followups. That's what I saw I think.
2 months...my flocks are processed by then :/ but chicks all come from NPIP cert flocks. I do see chicks and eggs from NPIP flocks fetch premium prices :) I hope all goes well and you don't have to commence chase (too much )

oh, and a little note... we went fishing this weekend...
Let's just say, tho it was a beautiful, cool day.. that wearing a spaghetti strap tank and a pair of shorts is never a good idea!
I am so sunburned I haven't been able to dress myself for 3 days!  I have a strapless, black, bathing suit cover that I CAN put on.. which is good when it gets 'nipply' in my white half slips... not the best attire to wear around the house!
But im dying... want to cry.. had to do my ceremonial whiskey and melatonin just to make myself sleep.... skin is just on fire!!!
DH actually shook my hand on his way to bed.. too scared to touch me since he may get punched!:smack

On top of that, state lady is coming tomorrow for NPIP testing... I have to catch each chicken for her... seriously... im gonna cry the whole time I just know it!!!  But it's taken her 2 months to come so I GOT to get it done!

So pray my friends...  pray I survive the day.....  :hit :hit :hit

They only test a certain percentage. When I first got my NPIP years ago, I think he only tested about 15 birds (chickens and turkeys) and I had about 300 total birds.

Man, I hope I didn't trust the wrong people :( I'm a case of nerves over one of my new zealand bucks.
But may just be anxious and all is well. Without communication tho, I just don't know :/

I made a trade for a 3 month old doe for a 3 month old buck a few weeks ago.
I dropped off and picked up at their house. A nice Mom, 2 sweet kids, great set up with rabbits, chickens and gardens and lives less than 5 miles away.
She called and wanted to breed her does and didn't have a buck of age. Asked if we could stud our buck. Hubby was reluctant but I felt all was well and it was a good idea to help out so she can get some babies out before summer heat. So he agreed.
Being short on time we decided to drop him off for a day or two and she will breed her does and I will Pick him up Sunday after we process chickens or Monday. I left a message Sunday. Yesterday I sent a message and left a message and now here we are Tuesday I have sent 2 messages and nada. :/
Do I just show up? Do I wait? :(

The first year that I was tested for NPIP they had to test every single bird on premises that was over 8 weeks of age. In years following as long as no birds were brought in from a NPIP source, only 10% of the flock (includes waterfowl, turkeys, etc) has to be tested.

I lock all my birds up the day before testing to make it easier. :)

SHOW UP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO GET YOUR RABBIT !!!!!!!!!!

So true. I know that he will never have chickens because it's too much work and he knows that. He sees what I go through and he could not put the hard work, time and MONEY in it.

Dealing with the broilers over the course of the past few months and dealing with my brother has been an eye opener.

I feel so passionate about continuing to help the elderly in my neighborhood that are on fixed incomes and I will concentrate on the 4 elderly people that I have been helping out for years . If anyone asks me if I have any "extra", my answer will be no because I am committed to helping these elderly people who have no jobs and anyone else how has a job can pay for anything that they want from me.

My 1st priority is self and my 2nd priority is those who need and not those who greed.

I'm going today before work. Communication was there until Sunday. We went back and forth a lot. Now nada so it kinda worries me.
SHOW UP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO GET YOUR RABBIT !!!!!!!!!!

And when you show up, wear camouflage pants and shirt with black military laced boots, strap your shot gun on and get out of your vehicle with your cross bow.

I bet she won't try that again with another person. :)

Please keep us posted.

That is so disrespectful. I hope you get your rabbit back and he is ok. That's what happens when you try to be nice to people. It makes it bad for the next person . Here it is Tuesday and no word from her. :smack Now I'M mad and it isn't even my rabbit but still. That makes me so mad.
