"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

YOU have to decide what you are comfortable giving to a person. A dozen eggs, 1 package of lamb, etc. Whatever the amount, whether it be weekly, monthly, etc. Then, that's it. Done. Let it go. Whatever they do with it after that is their business. Of course, if I know that the person I'm giving the "stuff" to is giving it all away, that WILL influence how much I give them. I like you want to "gift" my eggs, etc as a gesture of thanks, friendship...

Exactly! So, the amount that he is giving away is that amount that he doesn't need or has too much of and the remaining amount will be his share.

3 dozen eggs given to him
2 dozen eggs given away by him
1 dozen eggs is what he has left, so this is what he will get from now on as evidenced by what he gives away

2 packs of lamb meat give to him
2 packs of lamb is given away by him
0 packs of lamb is what he has left, so this is what he will get from now on as evidenced by what he gives away.

This will be an easy fix. ;)

Exactly! Sounds perfect :) if he asks for more for others, tell him how much to collect from then :gig

BEWARE GRAPHIC PICS. IF YOU HAVE WEAK STOMACH, DO NOT LOOK ANY FURTHER.

I posted this on another thread and I thought I would share it with you all in the event and of you have a mysterious chicken death.

On Sunday morning when I woke up, I went out to the sheep pen to bottle feed my babies. Well, on the way back to the house, I found one of my roosters laying on the ground dead and I have no idea what happened to him. He died within 10 minutes of me seeing him. He literally just dropped dead. He had been fine and wasn't sick.

So, I decided to process him later on after processing the rest of my broilers. After plucking him, I looked closely at his innards and I was looking for the heart and for the life of me, I could not find the heart. Well, when I looked closely, the reason that I overlooked his heart was because the heart did not look like a normal chicken heart. I researched an enlarged/abnormal chicken heart and his heart looks like some of the enlarged hearts that I saw pics of online. So, I guess my poor boy may have had a heart attack or some type of heart related issue.

Here is what an enlarged chicken heart looks like.

Wow that is an extreme difference!

Kuntrygirl's description of what the honker was met with:
I have had 2 glasses of wine and 2 Tylenol PM and I'm feeling SO GOOD and knowing that I have a lose tongue and I head on outside to give them a piece of my mind while I"m half naked and my hair is not combed with one shoe one.

Now, I bet that was one honker that will never honk again!! Haha. Bet you scared them to death!!!!

I was at work trying to make nice with another employee at my work. I brought in a dozen eggs he always asked for. He promptly told me he was going to give then to a customer who doesn't like him to butter him up...I took the eggs right back outta his hands and and laughing said no way! (i know the customer very well and already give him eggs! :gig )
I was about as shocked as he was when I said no way! Lol but I told him, I already gave him eggs this week and was giving my own supply to coworker, I'll eat um if he's just gonna give them away .

Man, I hope I didn't trust the wrong people :( I'm a case of nerves over one of my new zealand bucks.
But may just be anxious and all is well. Without communication tho, I just don't know :/

I made a trade for a 3 month old doe for a 3 month old buck a few weeks ago.
I dropped off and picked up at their house. A nice Mom, 2 sweet kids, great set up with rabbits, chickens and gardens and lives less than 5 miles away.
She called and wanted to breed her does and didn't have a buck of age. Asked if we could stud our buck. Hubby was reluctant but I felt all was well and it was a good idea to help out so she can get some babies out before summer heat. So he agreed.
Being short on time we decided to drop him off for a day or two and she will breed her does and I will Pick him up Sunday after we process chickens or Monday. I left a message Sunday. Yesterday I sent a message and left a message and now here we are Tuesday I have sent 2 messages and nada. :/
Do I just show up? Do I wait? :(

I think I would go over there if they didn't respond. When breeding dogs and you own the stud they bring the female to the stud. I don't know what's the protocall for rabbits but if I didn't know them it would be done at my place. Hope everything works out.
