"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Man, I hope I didn't trust the wrong people

I'm a case of nerves over one of my new zealand bucks.
But may just be anxious and all is well. Without communication tho, I just don't know

I made a trade for a 3 month old doe for a 3 month old buck a few weeks ago.
I dropped off and picked up at their house. A nice Mom, 2 sweet kids, great set up with rabbits, chickens and gardens and lives less than 5 miles away.
She called and wanted to breed her does and didn't have a buck of age. Asked if we could stud our buck. Hubby was reluctant but I felt all was well and it was a good idea to help out so she can get some babies out before summer heat. So he agreed.
Being short on time we decided to drop him off for a day or two and she will breed her does and I will Pick him up Sunday after we process chickens or Monday. I left a message Sunday. Yesterday I sent a message and left a message and now here we are Tuesday I have sent 2 messages and nada.

Do I just show up? Do I wait?

SHOW UP!!!! Keep up posted. I'd go with the attitude of " I know how crazy things get...I called, etc. a couple of times/ days...thought I'd make it easy and just stop by and pick him up so you don't have to drop him off..." Nice and nice...UNLESS there's a problem...then let HER off the leash!! Good luck...keep us posted.

And when you show up, wear camouflage pants and shirt with black military laced boots, strap your shot gun on and get out of your vehicle with your cross bow.

I bet she won't try that again with another person.

Please keep us posted.

That is so disrespectful.

I hope you get your rabbit back and he is ok. That's what happens when you try to be nice to people. It makes it bad for the next person . Here it is Tuesday and no word from her.

LOL LOL LOL @ SIMMA DOWN :lau

That's EXACTLY why she should go dressed for combat. To make it EVEN MORE believable and interesting AND FUN! :lau

I sent a few more texts saying I will be by today and I hope all is well. I left a nice voicemail saying I will be coming by to pick him up today.
Hopefully somethin happened to her phone and nothing bad happened at home or to my stud and its just a lack of communication ! It's happened to mine (dunked it in a trough once and had to wait for a new one) ug just getting frustrated trying to be nice :th

Trust that gut feeling you know something's up.

Ya we both were sorta time rushed and figured a day or two to try to cover her does. He was brought on his cage. Hubby felt it wasn't a good idea and said its only our time and buck for nothin so why risk it...but they seem so normal...:th he's still working so in ready to go just no ride yet lol

I think I would go over there if they didn't respond. When breeding dogs and you own the stud they bring the female to the stud. I don't know what's the protocall for rabbits but if I didn't know them it would be done at my place. Hope everything works out.

I retreated last weekend for mites. Re-dusted the birds, re-sprayed the coop. I don't know if I'm being overly freakish...I have been REALLY creeped out by this!! I know it will take time for the feathers to grow back, but I still feel that their feathers are continuing to thin around the base of their tail (on their back). I feel like I'm missing something. I've checked them over VERY well and don't see anything on them. But they are continuing to pick at their feathers.

I've looked up pictures of lice, and read about treatment. The Sevin dust I used should take care of mites or lice...right? I'm really frusterated here.

Any thoughts? Should I use a liquid lice treatment? I don't care about "all natural" right now, I just want whatever IT is GONE!!!

I'll say a prayer that everything goes fine. Besides the obvious possibilities I wouldn't want to have to hear I told you so from hubby for however long.:th

Did you get rid of the hay that started the problem? It could just be itching like when people start healing and the injured parts itch.
