My four sebbie eggs arrived today. They arrived unbroken!

Didn't check the airsacs yet but hopefully they're intact. If I hatch any they will be solid white. This will be my first trial run with goose eggs in my new incubator.

I know most of y'all are farther south than I am, so I know it's worse for y'all, but I'm miserable!!

The temps were normally about the same for here and Little Rock, but the humidity was totally different. I could handle the 100's alot better if it wasn't so dang humid.

So much for working on my coop site, I went fishing instead. I probably should have just stayed home and slept in. Only caught 3 bass and got a sunburn on top of it.

Hope everyone had a good Saturday. Tomorrow promises to be another scorcher so be safe.

You've got a lot of varmits. I have a problem with rats because of the unmowed field next to me. I am buying the field though and will keep it mowed. That possum looked like it was starving. I've seen a lot of big possums around here but they haven't bothered my chickens as of yet.

I have my sprinkler on automatic for 20 minutes twice a day and my garden looks terrible. Im getting veggies but they are nothing like last years crop.

Okay , on an earlier post I said I had taken my non-laying wyandottes off their bitty food at what 8-9 weeks old . They are bigger than my egg-laying RIR . Big red is my sweetie . Didn't think to ask why we have to feed bitty food till 18-20 weeks . I had them eating pellets . What did great ,great , grandma feed the bitty(s) in the late 1800's ?

There is extra calcium in layer feed that can damage the chicks organs. Most likey Grandma didn't have actual layer feed with all the different ingredients that they have now!! When I have a mixed flock I give the Flock Raiser and just make sure I keep oyster shells free choice for my big girls!!

Yea, I live near a lot of wooded area as well. That's where they all come from. I, like you, haven't had a problem with them bothering my chickens either. Thank goodness. I credit that to my cats.
