"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

They remind me of my pheasants. My pheasants are nervous little things. They are like Mexican jumping beans. They jump straight up in the air and literally bounce up and down. After my trip next week, I'll need to build them a little coop with a flying area so that they can fly around. I'll have to put padlocks on the doors when my grandchildren are around so that they don't accidently get set free. If they ever get loose I'm sure I'll never be able to catch them. I think they are so cool!

LOL @ Mexican jumping beans. That is exactly what they remind me of.

Good idea about those padlocks because if one of them gets out, you probably would never be able to catch it.

kuntrygirl ,

The pigeon pellets and chicken pellets are pretty much the same as far as ingredients . Not sure the specific ingredients . They sell a pigeon food they make also but it has more protein in it . It is $20 per 50# . People that have racing homers pretty much buy that feed . They make all their pellets . About bulk buying , I don't exactly what you mean . Are you meaning the bag size ? They only make 50# sacks if that is what you mean . As for buying a lot ,and getting a discount, that I don't know . They also make catfish feed , horse , rabbit and cow feed . They are a full service feed mill . I can check when I go and find out what they use for their laying pellets and let you know . They are on Hwy1 . If i bought in Winnfield or Jena I would be paying about $4 more per bag . So as you see , it is a real savings for me to go there . Like I said , these locals want to gouge a person . I know they sell a lot cause they are always busy . Never to busy to be friendly and helpful though !

When I bought in bulk, I would buy 1 - 2 TONS of feed at one time. One (1) ton equals 2,000 lbs. It was from a feed mill and they would bag the feed for me in 50lb bags. The cost of each 50lb bag was only $7.00. They no longer carry the feed anymore. So that's why I was asking about bulk. I'm trying to find somewhere that I can buy feed at a low cost being as though I have so much feed to buy.

I just put out my second batch of frozen milk jugs. I was talking about it at work and someone suggested puting salt water in them. They said it would stay frozen longer. So I googled it, and apparently it's true. So tonight I will try it & let you know how it works. Here is an article I came across http://thenaughtyvegan.com/how-to-make-blue-ice.htm

Good luck & stay cool

I just came back in and got more gallon jugs to take them out for this second round. I am about to fill up the gallon jugs for tomorrow, so I will add salt right now. I read this thread just in time. Thanks for the information.
