"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Hey! I am using the hatching 101 article by Sally Sunshine on here. It has a lot of good info for newbies :) You can do a search on the article name and find it easy. But since we have been so humid in north louisiana I am using the “dry hatch“ method. I will let ya know how all that works out lol

Goodluck!

Please do let me know! I'm super interested in dry hatching

Hi. Kuntrygirl: I mailed you some coupons the other day. I really enjoy participating in the great coupon event.
I've kind of been MIA. it's like coming out of a tunnel and I'm not out yet.

Ok, Fort Knox is open for business. My 16 babies are running, playing and flying all over. This was a 7.5' x 12' dog kennel given to me and I paid a guy to put a tin roof on and predator proof with everything needed. He also made me a 6' wooden trough for the fermented feed and a 6' roost with 4 bars. Enough for 50 chickens

Right now they have plenty of room and I don't think I'll put anymore in with them. Just build another coop. These are my layers. Period. Just hatchery and not worth breeding. But that's ok. I've got time to upgrade to better birds later. I'm just going to enjoy what I have. I have another 3' x 12' grow out pen that I might use later for some CX's. Not too many. I'm taking this slow and easy. I lucked out with the pen being given to me. So all I'm out is $235 for parts and labor. I don't think I've ever been this tired. Getting old. ha

Primrose, I've been thinking and praying about you. How's everybody else holding up? Get some rest.

The Best way to heal is spend time in nature. I'm sure you are doing that. Remember when you were a kid and layed in the Grass and watched the clouds? life was easy then! Being with amanda will help you to get back to a new normal. I belive when something leaves our life it leaves a space for something new. Best Wishes for you !!!Pam

TGIF!! been busy here - garden's coming up, have a broody sitting on 2 golf balls since I have no fertile eggs - this weekend I'll move her to my brooder cage & see if I can change her mind. Jim's going to the hospital for further tests on Tuesday (still having problems), Winnie is holding her own - tumor has not grown or shrunk, I have both her & Mal on grain-free, 75% protein, 25% veggies & some supplements to boost their immune systems. We will not let Big C take our precious little Winnie w/o a fight!

I printed out the Five Reiki Principals and posted them next to my desk where I can see them every time I look up. Might not be everybody's cup of tea but it helps me:

I – Just for today, I will not be angry.
Anger at others or oneself or at the whole world creates serious blockages in one’s energy. It is the most complex inner enemy.
Letting go of anger brings peace into the mind.

II – Just for today, I will not worry.
While anger deals w/past & present events, worry deals w/future ones. Endless worries may fill one’s head & each one bores a small hole in one’s body & soul.
Letting go of worry brings healing into the body.

III – Just for today, I will be grateful.
Be grateful from your heart inward. Simples things such as thanks, forgiveness, smiles, good words, gratitude, can improve others lives & make them happy.
Being thankful brings joy into the spirit.

IV – Just for today, I will do my work honestly.
Support yourself & your family respectably, without harming others. Earn a respectable living & live a life of honor.
Working honestly brings abundance into the soul.

V – Just for today, I will be kind to every living thing.
Honor your parents, your teachers, your elders.

Being kind brings love into the will.
Have a great weekend everybody!

Good morning. You have been on my mind. I hope that you are doing ok.

I did receive the coupons. Thank you so much. My addiction, oops, I mean my new hobby is leading me in all directions and I am having fun. I have started filling up storage bins so that I will be able to donate some items to the local woman's shelter and men's shelter. A lot of this stuff I will NEVER be able to use due to my severe allergies (scents and perfumes) and sensitive skin. I can't use a lot of the soaps, lotions, etc, so they will be donated to people who need it. I am really excited about donating. Makes me want to work harder to find deals for others.

Thank you again for helping me with my addiction. I send you self addressed stamped envelopes so you won't have to spend money on postage. When those are gone, I will send you more.

This weekend will be a extreme shopping weekend and I"m excited!!! :weee

Thanks again!!!

THere are too many posts for me to read to try to catch up.

Hi everyone.

Congrats everyone.

Have a good day everyone.

I'm still doing my couponing.

Scored 20 bars of Olay soap yesterday and paid $1.50 taxes for all 20. I'll be clean for 2 years. :weee

where did you find the olay coupons?

I traded with someone from another state. She wanted the high value Almay coupons $4.00 off and I wanted the Olay bars. My coupons were of more value, so I asked her how many coupons did she have and she had 20, so I told her that I wanted ALL of them and she sent all of them to me. The bars of soap were $0.97 and the coupons were $1.00 off each bar. That's how I got them free. The key to couponing and getting so many is to have A LOT LOT LOT of coupons.

The newspaper has a lot of good coupons but I found out different states have different coupons and the value of the coupon is higher in states where the cost of living is higher. So, I try to team up with people from other states and request the coupons that I want or the coupons that we don't have here and we trade and I get the coupons that I need.

It's A LOT of work doing this. I have learned that you MUST have patience, time, organization skills and the ability to FIND the deals that you want for little of nothing. My goal is to find items that are from FREE to $0.50. I do not want to spend more than $0.50 on an item. That's just what I"m working towards. You don't shop for what you need, you shop for what's on sale and hope to find what you need. Sounds crazy but that's how it works. ;)

You wanna try it. We could have a Lay'ers coupon group. :p

While couponing last night, I lucked up and found these tennis shoes for $0.01 each. My total was $0.03. I couldn't believe it. 3 CENT for 3 pair of tennis shoes?? These will go in my collection bin to be donated to one of the local shelters.
