"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Not needed down here, plus the chickens squat on their feet and keep their feet warm, i shaved the edges on my 2x2 to make them kind of roundm more comfertable for their feet, they can wrap their toes around easier also, the big one with the big birds are pin oak trees i cut down on my place, i put long 3" deck screws in the diagonals and just laid the roosts up their, so i can take them out if i need to

Angelicisi, I've stolen your top picture about the bad day. This ##$@ has not let me quote anything but this.
Got a problem, I have my incubator in my storehouse. A new one and as the day heated up (not insulated) even with the air cond at 70 it was 100 inside. The incubator read 110. Cooled the eggs down and turned it off for a while but nothing helps. So I'm bringing it in the house. My humidity in my room is in the high 70's Don't have the money to go buy a dehumidifier. Any suggestions. I had planned on doing it in the house anyway but my bu## SIL is scared that the eggs will explode and smell up the house. He's the one that admitted that he was so incredibly surprised that my chickens were so nice and clean and healthy (FF).
DD Aimee also said "I don't know why you can't just be happy with the chickens you have." This NEW stuff is freaking them out. This birds are my practice birds. Hatchery and so skittish. I'm not keeping them. Will sell at POL.
So back to the eggs, (rant over) if I can even keep them alive I'll need to keep it set on 100. I bought wiggler to put inside to measure the inside temp of the egg but I made a mistake and bought the temp/ humidity thingy without the probe. Have one ordered. The one without the probe is right on with the small tiny temp they gave me but does not match the temp gauge outside. Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks for letting me vent.

Y'all have really been busy! Took me all day to get caught up on only missing 2 days! Thanks for all the good wishes and prayers for my mom everyone! She is doing good and I'm back home. Missed my babies while I was gone.

they were all so excited to see me home that they "attacked" me as soon as I walked in the coop. Love getting greetings like that. Even though mom is better my son had to have dental surgery this morning and is not liking not having any front teeth. They pulled ten and capped 6. He only has 11 teeth now and keeps asking why he talks so weird now. He has a small lisp, but hopefully he will get used to his new teeth arrangement and the lisp will go away because he does not like it. I think it's cute and he is just too adorable when he smiles and all you see is silver canines! Working on a new incubator made out of a Rubbermaid tote on top of everything too! Whew, so much going on. Still need to figure out how to get it better insulated because I can't get the temp past 87 degrees. The humidity stays between 37 and 45% without water in it so I'm hoping that's not too high. Also have to get a smaller fan because the one I have is a little too powerful and cools it down too much. Any tips are appreciated. Here is a pic:

I've made a few adjustments since this pic like taken out the water container and sponge along with the fan. Even put in a higher watt bulb (75w) and duck taped paper towels around the lid for a more secure close. Still not really helping with the temp. Gonna check the window and insulate it better next. Maybe it helps.

Vent away. But you will get more help from Jennifer she hatches and you probably have her number. It's suppose to be fun not stressful. Do you think all these hens check humidity? If you can't reach Jennifer . Try kuntrygirl ,Jeff , Terri la chicks, good luck. Pam

Wrap styrofoam around it! Pam

How about one of those computer fans. Something to think about. Not very powerful at all but still effective.
