Howdy again , I was reviewing what we shared yesterday ,and noticed I did not say that , Novalsan is a disinfectant and one has to disinfect for four consecutive days with it . You don't have to do it it often though . If a Silkie is anything like this bird , it can't take the heat .

lol Honestly that I know nothing about , but they do look to be more feathered than others . They are pretty , but I love the wyans . A silkie doesn't look real if that makes any sense . Better yet , they look like something else . The reason I reviewed is because I don't want to ever give out the bad or not precise advise on meds or disinfecting .

I have to be careful with the pigeons , chickens and my parrots . So I sanitize a lot and myself before I come in the house . Bleach is the best for cutting boards in my opinion . We had sanitizers in the market , but I was what they say "old school" and poured the bleach to it when I had to clean anything . I even chunk some in the dishwasher occasionally . With 3 different kinds of birds , it would be easy to carry and transmit pathogens . Some pigeon breeders put very small amounts of bleach in the birds drinking water . I read an article that a vet wrote saying it was okay , but I don't plan on ever doing it . I like the daily apple cider vinegar technique .

yea I have been kind of leary about the hole bleach in drinking water thing, especially not my egg layers. I know two American Game breeders that use bleach in the water regulary. Maybe I would do it from time to time like a treatment. I do sanitze alot with bleach or vinegar. I use water/vinegar solution on cutting boards after every use.

Foy's pigeon supplies sells Oxine (AH) and I have heard a lot of people on Pigeon talk that use it . Personally I would have two different kinds on hand so you can alternate . Just so the pathogens don't become resistant to one . Iodine is another good one . Check Foy's out and read about what they offer and it's use and also go to New England Pigeon , they have lot's of different medicines and disinfectants . Best online store for meds I have yet to come across ,and like I said some of these you can put in the water and some you can't . I don't use bleach in my coops or lofts because the fumes can be harmful . I have Novalsan and Permetherin .
