"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I don't mean to but into a conversation, I did not see where anyone suggested this. But the first thing I would do is teach her "LEAVE IT". its the first thing I teach and train before anything else. It can be a life saver to anything that runs from her if you are consistent in the training and its the easiest thing to teach. If your interested, ill tell you how do to it, if someone else has not. I have 1 weimariner, and 4 daschunds, 6 cats, and 2 kittens. Its a must for any dog to learn. It will also save her life if you drop anything like chocolate, which can be lethal do a dog if too much is consumed!

Now my dog lets the chicken eat out of his bowl while he eats, and that is amazing to me...it really works. He's only 1.5 years old.

In less than 5 mins a day, for a day or up to a week you will see a big difference in your ability to control her on and off leave.....

That's one of the first things I teach also. It comes in so handy in so many situations down the road.

Don't waste your money. What color is she? Pam

rlcrow where did you do puppy training and what commands did she learn?

She is black and red, very pretty. :)
We went to pet smart for her puppy training, she know sit, lie down, here, stay, shake, follow, leave it and drop it. But she is only consistent on a few.

Yes it does, LEAVE IT works for many situations from house guest afraid of big dogs, to supper on the tabel, the mailman at the door! I've used it hundreds of time I've been training my own weims since 2000it has even stopped one from attacking an unexpected guest in the midden of the night. People sometimes don't know how to call first! Even babies trying to share their food, it's a wonderful tool that stops them immediately!

Ok your right black and red is west german show lines. They are super high energy and need a lot of exercise. I would exercise before training. Pet smart uses clicker training I think. Is it working? I have this same line of shepard. I also teach leave it but I like to know what's working whats not and what they already know. When this breed gets bored well any dog for that matter they become destructive. They are working dogs and need a job. I taught mine to track. You can find something for them to do that fits your lifestyle. Is she food driven or ball driven etc. Pam

If she won't give into leave it and she's trained to, she may need a collar do jar her a but. I've never had to use one but some shepherds are difficult.

Teach her JAWS OFF or GIVE

Give her a bone then show her a treat as you say give or jaws off, give her something better than her bone so she drops it after a while this become part of her language do it as many times a day as you can! If she ends up with anoth bird shell trade!

C&C told me he post the poultry on FB so people looking can see the birds before the auction

Where is it held in kinder?

It's at the sale barn where they do the big livestock, on 190 west of town. It's pretty big; we get there early because it's always packed. I'll have to check the C&C Facebook next time we're looking for birds. I'm going to try to sell my RIWs at the Kinder auction in December.
