I completely forgot to candle to turn the air cells up. I was nervous when moving the eggs. Ya'll think it's too late to candle them tonight and move them to the correct position?
Edit: Since mine are in the cartons I guess the cell would be "up" anyway so I guess tilting them slightly wouldn't be much of an advantage. Thoughts?

Pam, are you saying 60-65% is too high for the hatch or 50%?

Yes when they are chilled they come to the heat. When they are hot they move away.Pam

The last thing in the world I need is an incubator that big. I wouldn't be able to stop myself from filling it. lol. Let me know when the peas are laying again, I'd like some more eggs. Something killed my peahens and ran the boys off. Someone spotted them in a cow field once but I haven't seen them myself. They are probably long, long gone.

I've raised Cornish X in the past and we butcher chickens occasionally from our flock. We ordered the CX from McMurray and we didn't lose any, they were very healthy. They are gross and take a lot of tending to keep clean, but they fill the freezer fast. 8 weeks. But we can keep regular breeds of chickens without all the fuss and they lay eggs until you are ready to butcher them. They both have good things about them.

We have not raised pork. But I do love bacon <3 I have Canadian bacon and regular bacon that I have drying in the fridge getting ready for smoking tomorrow. It has been in brine/curing for a week. We are using pork from a wild pig that was gifted to us. We did all the butchering ourself. Ew.

My best hatch my humidity never went above 44% I would think it wouldn't matter the type of incubator.I still had eggs hatch at a higher humidity just not as many. Pam

I did sell my peas but they are only about 20 miles from me, in Echo -- I can hook you up w/the gal I sold them to, let me know when you're ready.

She down sized last year she sold them. But she could get you the info more than likely. Pam
