"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

About the CX staying in the coop my friend brings their feed to the end of their run so at least twice a day they get exercise. Just a thought. Pam
I read a tip somewhere to keep the feed a good distance away from the water so they have to at least walk a ways to drink.

On the furniture I will build to order. I've tried selling pieces here in Ruston before but didn't have much luck. In this town there's not much of a market for handmade furniture.

Eggs are incubating well! Today's day 11. I managed to get the air cells to form with low humidity. Threw out two today that never developed, and am eyeing another that doesn't look good. But all the other eggs are developing well, and I got to watch a few chicks dance around inside when they were candled.

You should show it to galleries dowm here or other big towns where people will spend money on the quality you make. Thats a fine art. Down here we have 2 or 3 fine art fest. One is three rivers art fest. its in nov. there is one in ocean springs in oct. I will try to find a pic of what I want for a coffee table. I know you could sell here in the finer stores and galleries. In my eyes I'd much rather something hand made. I've bought a few pieces in my travels and shipped them home.

The CX need any exercise you can get them to do to avoid leg problems.Pam

Cody, you need to block them from feed at night, only let them eat during the day, this slows down their rate of growth and avoids fluid build up around the heart, thus preventing congested heart failure, one of the 2 leading cause of early death to CXs, the browns and the blacks develop slower and are not as likely to experience early death syndrome. I have done a lot of study on this as I plan to develop my own line of CXs in the future.

Your furniture is great quality and would be snatched up in the bigger well to do community's in the larger city's, try posting in the Thrifty Nichol or LA classifieds. Also search Face Book for Elcamino corridor everything poultry and livestock group and post some photos there.

I just asked my friend a question. You Assume I ferment my feed. I do not I feed organic scratch and peck which has probiotics. Maybe you should go inform the fermented feed thread. Pam

Let's face it, fermented feed is a hot topic. Hot as in arguing. Those who don't do it, fine. Your own decision. I have been doing it for a year and I loved the ease of not having to water as much or clean out the coop as often. While I've been recouping from surgery, Clint only fed dry. Today my coop stinks and I use twice as much feed. Since I have 21new babies I'm going to start a new batch and get them started off right. Next week is my last week to rehab, so then I'll have the strength to get out and clean.

mustard greens which i love pinkeye purple hulls Rattlesnake pole snap beans, yum yum

corn and pole butter beans a few tomatoes patatoes really doing great

egg plants and srawberrys yellow crookneck squash, she did'nt sed me a pic of okra which is doing fine also

I guess you all can tell what we have been doing here, we are going to stay out of the grocery store more than we used to for sure., next year it will be bigger.

I've done it before but with probiotics in the feed I buy, they seem the same as with it. I come here for fun ,support, and if I have a problem. I hope when I do I'm treated the way I treat others with kindness. I'm glad to here from you. I hope you are having a great Mother's Day . Pam
