"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

that was quick for having a transformer blow up. Let's hear it for the electric co!

Yes, lets! They did Very well :clap

What is everyone hatching out?

I have 14 Bresse an 2 Black isbars from Ms Pam, and then i have 14 of my own mix breed brown layers, and 13 of my own mix breed green layers :)

Love there color. What breed are they? Pam

Thank you! (And Mire An Cody!) Those chicks are from my mix breed green layer, she laid Ever Day until the fall came.

I don't know what the cockerel died from. I still have a concern that Marek's could possibly be in my flock. I put him in the freezer and am planning to call the poultry Ag office tomorrow. To test for Marek's I think they need fresh samples so I'm not sure if they could use him for testing.

Pam, looks like the big red truck is in Slidell, Wednesday at 8:00 A.M. and in Ruston on Thursday, 10:00 A.M. I assume it's the same truck. The driver is a very nice lady that wears glasses and with brown hair.

Mire, I've been hatching Bielefelders.

Turk, those are some pretty yellow chicks.

I think it's the same lady. She travels with her dogs? The girl that runs the drop may have her number I could see if she would ship him to you. Pam

Are you saying everyone of the eggs you bought from me hatched? Wow hope mine goes that well. That's great news. I'd like to see pics or your yellow chicks as they grow. Love the color. :jumpy :bun

Today we go into lockdown, nobodys hatched just yet, but i am saying they are All Still Alive even after the power outage! Thats not to be taken lightly either though, its a sure fire way for me to say you have Fantasticly healthy stock!

And cant forget

I :love my incubator. We have a Brinsea so its kinda easy on my part, the bator holds humidity and temps exceptionally

I covered all the windows with plastic as well as put a piece of plywood along the outside wall where water was coming in near the floor. It helped to divert the water. I just dumped a new bag of shavings in their after getting most of the wet ones out. And all this was after getting the 6 one week old puppies out from under the coop where it had flooded. The we're in a hole under there it was almost impossible to get them so I had to dig them out in the pouring rain. Luckily they all survived! I'm supposed to be getting my two new baby goats tomorrow but with this weather we likely will have to wait until next week :(

Is anyone flooding as bad as we are? Turns out my coop is not as water proof as I thought it was.

I am.

So glad you saved the puppies! What kind are they?

Were in the mist of moving two chicken tractors to high ground, bathing three dogs, to come inside, adding plastic to walls, cleaning the carport(our only planned activity this weekend :eyeroll: ) and watching the ducks Swim in the Yard...

Our neighbors on each side of my property have built their land up and created us a bery drastic dip that just sucks. In spring we had to shore up the sides of the coops/runs and build up the ground like raised flower beds. It was a nasty fight.
