Hatching in classroom??? Anyone here ever helped with it before? My cousin and another elementary teacher have asked if I can provide them with eggs and take the chicks afterward. I have no problem with that, but I know nothing about incubating/hatching chicks. My cousin did this once when she was a student teacher many years ago and I don't know about the other. They are planning to do this in the spring. Any suggestions of information/instruction they can use as a resource?
I'll bet your nosy neighbors could give good advice.

That's a good pic lakones. Thanks I needed a laugh.

Try Googling "Hatching eggs in the classroom". A lot of links come up.

If I were to suggest a place to learn how to hatch I'd point them to this forum first.

I just talked to my son's science teacher about doing this in the spring. I figure I'll try and make the hatch fall out on a Tuesday, that way hopefully they can see some hatch over a couple of days. I'll probably go up there and do a little show and tell a couple of times, show them egg candling. I'm sure the kids will love it

Are you central or northeast there? My cousin is a central teacher.

Actually they go to a homeschool in Central off Gurney Rd. They were in Central schools until 3 years ago. Will have to go back to Central for high school though

I know where you are talking about. A friend of mine has 2 kids there too. They are 6 and 8 I think. How old are yours?
