"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I know where you are talking about. A friend of mine has 2 kids there too. They are 6 and 8 I think. How old are yours?

They are 13 and 12. 8th and 7th grade.
Oh and our little surprise baby girl.....almost 2 now

It is pretty! Is is blue or green? It is sometimes hard to tell in pics. I am still waiting on my first blue egg. My legbar must know what I want and she is not cooperating at all. :lol

It's mint green with white specks. My son was some excited. I have 2 more hens that haven't laid since we got them 2 weeks ago. Waiting to see what color they will lay. I can't wait for some legbar eggs from pam.

Not sure what happened but one of my SLW got attacked by something, probably a dog. I was asleep, worked last night. Woke up and found 2 missing a bunch of feathers. One is ok just feathers missing. The other has a large chunk of skin and meat missing on her back. I'm not sure what to do......Can yall help???? I've heard of blue kote, what about neosporin? She is in a separate pen right now.

No blue Côte right now. Separate her a tote in a laundry room or garage. Wash with diluted betadine then get vetramycin wound care. Blue Côte will burn a cut this deep and fresh. You want her indoors to keep flys from laying in her wound. After she has healed some then blue Côte. Pam

Got my first "ameraucana" egg yesterday.......I guess i have easter eggers
If this egg has a satin shin to it , it's an ameraucana. If mate an feels like chalk could be Easter eggers. My guess is it's the Legbar some when they first eggs are a blue/ green good pigmented egg that gets blue as the continue to lay. One way to know for sure is to look at vents. Pam

I found vetramycin at the feed store on plank (across from 5D). TSC sometimes has it, sometimes not. I have some here if you need it. Let me know if I can help.

Thanks pam! Before I saw your post, I talked to Liz at plans vet hospital. She said if it's fresh and I can clean it to just super glue the skin back.so we cleaned it really good with peroxide and glued it. It looKS really good on the outside. Do you think I still need to put vetramycin? Sorry for all the questions, this is our first time caring for an injured chicken

Ok thanks for letting me know that. If I need it, I'll go there tomorrow and get it

no the super glue is fine but perioxide is a no no. Betadine diluted with water say 2 parts betadine to one part water . Super glue is the same glue they use in human surgery. Pam
