"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I'll post some pics I took last week before we left. I was building new nest boxes and the girls were supervising.

Lone surviving biddy. She was cold!

Guineas and their mama. They're not tame, but they like to be underfoot.

I love involving the kids with taking care of the chickens....the look on their faces is priceless!

Okay, I have a question. Just curious because someone on another poultry site had brought up fighting roosters. I don't believe in game fighting roosters . Just putting that out there. I think it is cruel and I love animals too much to do something like that. But seeing people comment about fighting roosters made me question if it is legal to do it. I found a mention online that it was banned in louisiana in 2014. Does anyone know if that is the case or not?

It is illegal in Louisiana.
Even if it were still legal, it's not something I would support. Cock fighting for sport is different than a couple of roosters going at it in the backyard. There are knives and such that are strapped to the legs for maximum injury (death).

Our chicken project for today...a copula to go on top of the chicken house. With the couple of upper 20/lower 30 nights we recently had I closed the end doors of the building and the next morning there was too much humidity in there so...a cupola...
