Depends if you want to make it a stationary coop or just make it a better chicken tractor. If stationary coop, build up. If you want to move it around you need to consider the extra weight of improvements also.

Thanks so much! It is a 1931 truck with an original steel roof (Budd Cab). There's not many of them around anymore. Sadly we have listed it for sale. After the neck surgery this summer my husband can no longer drive it. If you notice in the background we also have an abundance of Model A parts.
What is your's? Coupe, Tudor, Fordor, Roadster??? Got pics?
I would love to find a Phaeton for us!

Wow -- my Grandfather had a truck, too, but a cousin turned it into a hot rod back in the 60s & then totaled it. Wish we still had it in the family. Ours is a Fordor sedan, everything still in original condition & still running. My Dad was active in an antique car club back in the day but it hasn't been out in public for years now, just trips down the road we live on. It has it's own garage. I'll dig up some pics of it. I'm so sorry you have to sell yours. Hope you find a Phaeton.

Hey guys, I want your advice. I bought a coop/cage that I'm going to be renovating a bit. I'll edit this post and add a photo from my phone, so this may be hard to follow until the photo is posted. For some reason my laptop doesn't want to.

The tin covers all but a fourth of the top, and that section is the only door. The tin also covers the back side, and halfway up the two sides. The inside is completely plain and one big cage. What I would like to do is separate a portion of the inside into a roosting area, or add on a roosting area to the top and make a ramp to the bottom. I'm not sure which would be easier and want opinions.

I would also like to add two nest boxes, and am also thinking along the lines of whether to add a section inside for nest boxes and cut a door into the roof/side, or to add external nest boxes that connect to a side

Enclose all of it & put it up off the ground, on cinder blocks or something. You have a good start there!

Unfortunately no it didn't. Looks like it quit around day 18-19. Its actually still in the bator but I'm taking it out today. So we got 2 out of 4 but one was a clear that I don't think was fertilized. 50% is not great but I will look to improve that.

Morning y'all. I've noticed my guineas have started picking on my hens. They'll grab a beak full of feathers and just run laps through the yard. The male will puff his wings out, like a linebacker. Am I going to have to separate them, or is this just pecking order type stuff?

I would like to know the answer to your question too. Were they just introduced together? If not, seems weird that they would all of a sudden start pecking and pulling feathers.

Mine got alone time until there got 7-8 mths old n I had to separate them

They've been together for two months, or a little less. The keets are about four and a half months old.

I wish I could help...... I had them together for 4 months and the guineas mostly kept to themselves.
