Yes you should see a clear dot on his head too. Females are brown and look like easter egger chicks. Pam

He is light colored. Also seems to be having trouble walking well. Not splayed legs but as if his feet don't cooperate so he can't get his balance. Doesn't stand up for long before tipping. Shuffling when moving around, staying low. Hoping it is from being cramped in the shell and will "find his legs" soon![]()
The first thing I would do is separate the sick ones out so it doesn't spread if it is serious. Lots of really bad chicken diseases start with respiratory symptoms. Better safe than lose a bunch from the flock. It's what I do.
I have had standard chickens go broody, but the best seem to be heritage breeds and bantams. The broody I have now is a bantam and its her first time sitting and so far she is doing a great job! My silkies always did fantastic too.
I have them separated. The runny noses are better on all three but two are still somewhat lethargic. This is day 3 of giving the Tylan 50.
Yes, that was my plan for this afternoon. I am going to stop at feed store to get some on my way home from work and if none there I read that Poly-Vi-Sol for infants without iron is acceptable. My daughter told me that he is moving around more and walking better today. If the vitamins don't help maybe I need to make him some "shoes" like for the curled toes.![]()
Do you any idea what it is?
No I don't. At this point, I'm winging it at best
If he is standing better I'd try the vit. First baby vit. Are fine. The one I get from tractor supply is vit. With probitiocs and electrolights.
