"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I was eating some of my birds eggs last week and noticed one tasted different in fact it tasted terrible. I thought it might be a one off thing so I didn't think much of it. So now my sister has said the same thing. I give her eggs. She said she ate one and it tasted terrible and had a fishy taste. I looked this up and found that it is attributed to what they are eating and the levels of omega 3's. The article said the omegas taste like fish when at high levels. I haven't changed their feed or scratch but they do get to free range everyday. Must be new spring plants coming up or something. Anyone else ever noticed their birds eggs tasting different.

I have the red black brested sulmtaler roosters. They were headed to freezer camp this weekend so your timing is great. I have white Bresse too, You might want to look at the barbezaux They are up there with the Bresse as best tasting but they are a roasting bird while breese are better for poaching/ stewing. I'm in slidell so fairly close I have a few hens..."

Call or text...interested in Breese, Sulmtaler roosters or eggs, even hens. My cell 9856344703 & can call anytime without waking me....I will call back, if tied up. I'm so sorry I took so long to respond. Lynne Cassaro

I haven't come across a bad tasting egg yet, hope I don't either :) Wonder which plant would increase the omegas so much that the egg would taste like fish? Mine are enjoying the sweet clover right now. Not much else growing besides the usual grass in my yard.

I haven't had this happen but have heard about it from someone else. I don't know it its plant bug or feed related. Flax seed and sunflower seeds are high in omegas any oily plant or seed would have it. Plus kitchen scraps could also add to it. Pam
