Ive been out enjoying it, but i return to read your posts late at night :D

Should have had a post from Mrs Pam, didnt catch it, but congrats on getn ur beehive set up!
An Autosexing breed would be sexable the day theyre born, there are several rare breeds who are auto sexing as well as mass produced five star layers, all depends on your preference.
:love :celebrate :love

I was here no one posted. The weather was so nice. We put our Flow hive together. Cleaned coops etc.I'll be coming to Baton Rouge every other week. If you live there and want eggs or chicks with out shipping or driving here, This is your chance. I'll post a few days before coming. I have hatching eggs,Chicks and Poulets. Pam

I'm sure we can make it happen. I know you have been wanting them. It would be fun just to visit and get to know you better. I lost one of my eating egg customers. The other wants chicks. So I needed a way to sell them. My friend hooked me up to sell them all. I bet I wind up coming more once word gets around. Pam

All of these chicks are just so cute!!

Georgette's daughter laid the sweetest little blue egg today! I think it's her first. :love

Georgette hasn't laid that I've noticed, but she won't coordinate with the other colored egg layers, so I don't know for sure. I've seen the little marans in the box, but nothing from her yet, either. :fl

Would rather chicks, Havnt gotten enough drive to try my hand at hatching yet. Also, is there a way to sex them that young? I live in a neighborhood where it's nearly impossible to have cockerels.

No, the cockerels do develop quickly but I am unable to vent sex them as day olds. I have plenty of eggs in the incubator, as well as a broody sitting on 9, so chicks wouldn't be a problem either. Like I believe Mrs. Pam said, an auto sexing breed would save you the trouble of rehoming any cockerels.

It's been busy busy busy. I hate that it is going to rain all week. It is putting a stop to barn construction. Yesterday we extended the angle of the roof to the new posts and marked them for cutting. It wasn't much progress but took a few hours to complete.

I need to take new photos of the frizzle babies. This is my first time raising them and I love them! As more feathers come in they only get cuter.
