If any of y'all in the BR area need to euthanize your birds, I very highly recommend Bluebonnet Veterinary Hospital. Just had to take an egg bound/bacterial infection hen to get euthanized and they only charged the flat fee of $100 instead of the usual $250.

I hate Monkeys...NOT going to Tickfaw.
Actually about to head back to work.
Got a little sleep but the traffic outside is steady &noisy & at times, bumper to bumper.
Where the heck are all these people going?

Afieldsnowyegger, 1 rooster moved to Clinton, 2 to St Francisville, the rest of them are fine.They will be tucked away in the grow-out pen which is probably the safest. Hope your family & chickens have a quiet ride through the storm.
The rest of you Louisiana people who I haven't met, requesting heavenly protection for all of you. Hunker down and stay safe.
Wishing myself a happy birthday, one of my guys said he was bringing cake to work tonight! We will be riding Ida out there, the company brought in air mattresses. We hope they supply food! (we have full kitchen facilities).

Thanks. I turned the ducks loose this am to bathe in pond one last time….

Then a hawk got into the enclosure just before i got home. Lets just say he got trapped in there and i don’t think will be visiting for a while now…. but time will tell.

we moved a few things to my parents house down the road. Riding it out there, as i dont think my 40 yr old mobile home 6 ft off ground will fare too well if its still a 3 when it gets here. Got snacks, plenty alcohol, plenty food. Plenty fuel & generators . So once my place loses power the transfer switch will be thrown. We wont be there but at least my 2 freezers full of deer , fish , & bulk meats will be fine.

Hurricane hit land… party time

Just got woken up by grown daughter yelling from the road. I came home from work around 6am. It was a rough night there, we'll be at least a week coming back on line.
Basically okay, running on generator. 1 chicken missing, goats happy with all the tree parts. A tree fell on my chiminea but missed the house.
The ride home was pretty surreal. Parts of Baker & the airport had power, not much else. As soon as my daughter left I put the lock & chain back on the gate.

Its been hell here. house & vehicles made out ok, no damage to th3m but i have plenty downed trees,

I been working 20 hr days. We have sewer stations will be down for weeks. Out of 550 , over 300 are still on generator power. Im avging 300-330 miles per 24 hours in the parish. Filling up everyday28 gallons. Truck is only turned off when i sleep. bellingrath & northwoods appear to be hit the hardest in central. i have worked parish call in evening/ nights , but from 5 am- 3pm i been covering the north (baker central zachary scotland mid city) . I have seen some really bad damage. Our big station just past blount on clark took a really hard hit. and the storage tanks on hooper overflowed. Theres alot of infrastructure that 90% of the world have no idea about. and it keeps the day flowing. But when it breaks down it gets stinky quick

I only lost 1 duck. And it was a drake, so no hard loss. it wasnt even due to the storm tho, it got snake bit 2 days prior. Woke up Monday morning he was curled up in nesting box
