Popped that bad boy into the freezer for my biology teacher friend.looks like a ground rattler. Nah, not venomous. Toss it back in for the birds. From the looks of that size in a bowl, it be like a big nite crawler for them.
at that age/ size, if it was venomous, (at least copperhead OR cottonmouth/ mocassin) it would have a green / lime tail.
normal timber or eastern rattler (neither of which are in your neck of the woods) are not that color.
The only other venomous we have here are corals, but there nowhere close to here or that color
