I just came back from Clinton...good to know about the feed.
Zachary feed has started carrying the good goat minerals, Sweetlix brand.

I will look at the feed store in Clinton tomorrow because I have to go back out there.
I am trying to get a permit but the office where I have to get it from is only open part time.
I think the only think more annoying than dealing with East Feliciana Parish might be dealing with St. Helena parish.....

What kind of permit u getting? For the goats?

This would be the septic system permit for a property on Hwy 958.
Uh oh. My goats are not permitted...do they arrest me or arrest the goats?
I have been taking care of sheep for a friend on vacation. After spending a few hours with all the sheep, I really appreciate animals that I can catch and lead. It's about 150 sheep +lambs and they don't ever want to go where I want them to go. I am trying not to take it personally.

Feed prices are holding for now...Lone Star chick starter crumble (actually had 50# bags in stock!) $21.49; Nutrena Layer pellets (16% protein/50 lbs.) $18.99.
Zachary Feed store selling chicks as fast as they get them in.

Wife picked up an order from post office last nite. Called me when she got them to store. It was welsummers & cochins. They consider those premium pullets at tsc. I went and bought 5 to put under my mom with her babies. She took them perfectly.

Lady behind me (they have the farm on blackwater by the curve) bought 17. I think by 10 or 11 today they were sold out
