Julie,..we agree with you on goat behavior,.. no matter how cute they are,.. DH's grandfather, in Mamou, raised the same breed of sheep that you do and they were wonderful,.. of course they ate the pasture to the ground ( the reason cattle ranchers hated sheep farmers) but he milked them and made cheese,.. it was the first time I had heard of it. I can't wait for you to tell us about milking your sheep!

Olivia says to tell you she's in love with that baby boy lamb!

grambysfarm,.. that is a LOT of chickens to get rid of in one day! Way to go!!

Well doggonit -- I am short one of the BCMs -- had to be a fox or coyote-- there was a trail of feathers leading right down the soybean rows towards the bayou.

Time to get my traps out & the guns loaded.

Yeah; practiced a LOT with my new incubator. It was lots of fun. Now, the day of reckoning has come -- I have too many chickens for my pens.

Even after shedding 50, I still have LOTS of chickens.

The rest I'll hold onto for a little while to choose my breeders for next year.

I've meant to catch those three & wing clip 'em every day & every day it's been so darn hot I've let it slide. They are the only ones who give me trouble about staying in.

I'm fixing to pare my flock down to no more than 16. From now on, I'll only be raising Ameracaunas & Welsummers from my own flock. There will be several roos heading to freezer camp real soon.
