Gracie, girl -- once you made up your mind, you acted quickly. LOL

Congrats on the sheep! Now, you've got me thinking sheep.

Shame on you!!

I may be a bit impulsive

They have some for sale in Roanoke. I saw them in the Market Bulletin if you are interested! We can be goose/sheep buddies

And maybe I wouldn't be so impulsive if you weren't all a bunch of enablers!

We are enablers, aren't we?!!

I'm going to try to hold off until next year. I have WAY too many irons in the fire.

We may have to change our forum name to the "Baa-Peep-Honks".

All kidding aside, it's a joy sharing common interests.

Julie, how would you describe the flavor of your lamb meat as compared to other meat?

Ok, let's see how I can describe it. In my opinion, it has a sorta rich flavor but nothing to turn your nose up at. It has a very unique flavor. Compared to beef and pork, it's flavor is more "tasteful". When you eat it, you know that this is no ordinary meat.

It doesn't have a "wild" taste to me. You just know that you are getting a quality meat. If you like steak, well lamb is 3 steps above a nice steak. It has very little fat at all.

If I had to choose between chicken, duck, beef, pork, steak or lamb, I would pick lamb hands down. I could eat it every day. I love it grilled.

Grilled is the best to me. I love to eat it right off the pit.

Yep! Come join in. I'll be leaving soon for the afternoon.

BTW, I'm thinking real hard about getting rid of my BLRW after my purchase yesterday from Terri. I'm thinking of freeing up that pen space for only the Orpingtons from Terri. My BLRW are about 5 months old and haven't started laying yet. They'll be laying before too long. My best guess is that they won't start laying until the weather cools a bit. I'll post pics later this weekend when I have a little more time. Those Orpingtons are so BIG that I'm thinking real hard about incubating some eggs soon in case something were to happen to those chickens. They are that nice! Terri, thank you so much! I LOVE those birds!!!

I told you so!

The ONLY reason I got rid of them is because I love my Welsummers so much!

Gee I have got to back up about 20 pages & catch up on posts as soon as I get a minute. I've been selling off the office desks & furniture & file cabinets all morning -- made $235 so not a bad bit of profit in my pocket!

We used to have neighbors who raised sheep and goats so I sort of got my fill of them back then. I'd sort of like to have an alpaca though...
