"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Just curious, what is the longest every has left an egg out in the house un-refrigerated and steal eats it. I collect every day and sometimes they sit on kitchen counter for 2-3 before I refrigerate or eat them.

I just answered someones question asking the same thing. I also found this In a quote attributed to Alton Brown, he states that unrefrigerated eggs age roughly a week’s worth of refrigerated time in a day (depending on temperature, of course). Given that eggs typically last 6 – 8 weeks in a refrigerator, that gives you about a week to eat a fresh egg. A good check for egg freshness is to see if it floats – if it does, the inner air pocket has expanded and the egg should probably be discarded.

Just wanted to share.

OMG!!!!!!!! Crackheads? My Vidrines are VERY good people. I probably wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing that I lived next to crackheads. I would be afraid that they would get into my chicken coops and steal my chickens and sell them in exchange for some drugs.

Eggs never stay long in the nest here,. that's only because we are home all day,..,.. but we do leave them out on the counter in the egg bowl for days before eating them or putting them in the fridge. My Nanny taught me the fresh egg test when I was little,.. but Olivia ( who thinks A.B. walks on air) swears he invented it,..

FYI..Did ya know A.B. says one should never boil crabs,...

For me, I don't leave out any eggs. Because I sell eggs, I pack and store eggs immediately. I don't want any of my customers getting sick from me leaving my eggs out too long.

I know that people do leave eggs out for periods of time and eat them but I just never have.

So pumped I went from one or two eggs a day to 5 eggs today, out of 8 layers. Anyone have chickens molting. I think that's why mine egg prodution slowed down. I noticed a couple weeks ago a couple hens had some wing feathers missing like at the first wing joint closer to there body. I thought they where pecked but today I noticed some feathers growing back. Looked like pen feathers. Is that a sign of molting is it to early
