"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I always have used san in my run areas. As someone else posted use plenty and 6 inches should work
out fine. I put a drain in my big run so that I could wash it out. The way I have it done, I can spray
out all of the chicken poop and not lose any sand.
Also with plenty of sand in the runs to keep the mud away you will have less of a problem with your
chickens getting worms. I am about to order a load of sand in the next few days myself to add to the
runs and for the new pens we are fixing to build. My brother works for a gravel company and I can get
a load of sand for a very good price.
Went red fishing last weekend and something about the boat ride kinda straightened out my back. My
back has been giving me fits for the last 5 years to the point that I have only been able to sleep 2-3 hours
a night. Since the fishing trip I have been going to bed about 9:30-10:00 at night and my wife has
been having to wake me up around 8 am. Then about noon today I got out of the truck and took a wrong
step and I have a catch so bad in back that I can't even walk again. May need to line up another fishing trip
this weekend.
Hope everyone has a great week.

hey guys how have all of yall been? busy out here on the prairie. had a feed and birthday shopping run, a wedding, a family get together, and spent today first buying wire for cages, and then building new rabbit cages. my dd found a mini rex rabbit at the feed store she just fell in love with, she shows them with 4-H, and sine her last one got mean as fire, we had to get another one, and you know every girl needs a guy, so picked up one from a different batch!!! then today had to build cages for them, but they are all happy in their new homes!!! hopefully these will stay "nice". boy was it hot today, we usually have a breeze blowing out here, not today, just stiffling heat. sorry to all you folks that have been having trouble of one sort or another. cadjien glad to hear you are feeling better, also glad the roo is too!!! it took me about an hour to catch up on the reading, boy yall's fingers have been BUSY!!! also that's a great idea about the sand, never even thought of it. does it have to be six inches deep?, my coop is more or less on a slope, and the perimeter is lined with left over bricks we ad from our house (2 palattes worth), and i'm afraid that if i go deeper than the brick heigth, then it would all wash away? i'm thinking of getting some pigeons---again! lol!, any way does anyone know anybody that raises the creole's anymore, used to be real popular around here, but now everyone has kings, mondains, or hubbles, or a combination thereof.

stay cool!!!
peace,
dave

Glad to see everyone doing good. Went out to the city today for school clothes shopping.started out beautiful, then then deluge of rain hit.come home with another horrible migraine to find the back flooded, the dane pup brought me a young escaped chick to the porch, and now I've been fighting with a colicking horse for the last 6 hours. Picked up some Rompin, ace, banamine, and orb for treatment overnight. Cross ur fingers and wish me luck. My daughter is so upset. Got the seat down in the back of the suv,got an extension cord with a fan rigged up,and my pillow. So far he seems a lil calmer and better.

Orpimom, hope your horse is better today. I lost my good Paso Fino mare years ago to colic followed by founder, we fought it for 3 months but we lost the battle. She was imported from Puerto Rico & my once in a lifetime horse.

Took a long walk this morning & came back soaking wet & I don't mean from rain -- golly it is humid outside today! We are supposed to be in the triple digits for the rest of the week.

Off to put some bread dough on for the 2nd rise, then take a shower. Have a good one everybody!
