I don't know if I just got lucky or what. The first set of eggs I bought I got 14 and hatched 5. One was cracked in shipping and the first thing I did was crack it on a plate. It was not fertile. So, I'm not sure if it was because of fertility or not. Those were shipped from Michigan. The next sets were 14/8 from California, 14/8 from Arkansas and 8/5 from Florida.

She does all the sewing for us!! Geez who am I fooling, my own husband can sew!! <sigh> not this sister though!!
 
I bet that is something to hear with your peas!! I keep throwing it around about getting some. Maybe once the new coop is built I can talk hubby into building me a pea pen!!



Well, next year I'll have 2 pairs of peas hopefully laying eggs and/or hatching chicks who will need a good home! So keep me in mind!

It's been quite on here tonight!! Been at my son's football game. This time it was the varisty team that won 21-0.

He plays on both teams so it seems like we're always at a game!! Hope all is well with everyone. What's everyone up to this weekend?? I'm definetly putting down lime and then laying hay down, cause it stinks to high heaven out there!!

Good morning all. I hope that everyone had a great night. Going out to open the coops and going to start my day. Have to take one of my feral cats to the vet. Her eyes were running this week, so I need to clear up whatever she has. Hopefully, she won't tear up the vet's office like the one of the other feral cats did a few years ago. After that visit, the vet told me just to call him and explain the symptoms of any of my animals and that I could pick up the meds instead of bring the animal in.

I guess that cat was banned from the vet's office because he almost tore a finger off of the vet's hand.

After that, have to do run some errands (post office, wal mart, etc.) I really need to get my truck detailed. I have hay and pellets all inside. It's a mess. Will be laying some sand down today, so that may take a couple hours. After that, I will ge going to the opening of a new restaurant in Lafayette. I received an invitation to check it out, so me and a co-worker will be going. I invited my co-worker because her uncle died this week and she has been having a hard week. Hopefully, getting her out for a couple of hours will take her mind off of everything for a little while. We'll see.

I have been reading and keeping up with everyone on the thread when my health permits me to sit at the computer,..and just wanted to say hey. Olivia has taken over in the chicken coop for me and has become quite the chicken whisperer,. I do get to feed treats now and then but that's about all ,.. so it's nice to see what you all are doing.
If my heart will let me,. I'm hoping to make it to the St Tammany parish fair,.. DH says he will get me a wheelchair and take me to see everything,. maybe some of you will be there?
