I have a question: What is this "AI" testing I see some people have done? I know about the NPIP and have my first testing scheduled in a couple of weeks. Would the same guy do this other testing at the same time?
Thanks

It stands for Avian Influenza. I think you have to pay for that test. I
The same doctor should do the test.

Thank you...She is one of my American Pitbull Terriers and Steve's buddy.Or the one he likes to share her food.(basically meaning he likes to steal her food.) She will be attending her first show in January or February tentatively. She's starting a lil late, but I guess better late than never. ...lol... She's actually supposed to be my oldest son's...but.... lol....

Are you making her debut at the Alexandria show here? I go every year! used to show it when I showed but that was years ago, but still like to go hang out & see the action & peruse the vendor booths -- I'll come cheer you on if you're here! The Alex show is always the last week in January -- it 's on the Jack Onofrio circuit. I'm hoping to go to NY in Jan & cheer on my dear friend & breeder of our Cockers at Westminster - her boy's in 6th place right now & climbing, so hopefully he'll make that magic #5 & get an invite!

Incubating question!! If you had a bator that went one or two ways.. Would you rather it be a little cooler or a little hotter???

I had one like that & cooler worked better for me -- they ran a day later hatching but at least they didn't cook in the shell -- did have a couple of sticky chicks but that was not a big deal -- after they fluffed out & were in the brooder, a warm washcloth took care of the sticky shell bits. I had one run too hot & lost several & egg-autopsy showed them fully formed so I think they got too big, too fast & died before pipping.

Edit: thank you Julie for the NPIP reminder!!! I also want to get mine tested for AI this year & they told me last year you do have to pay for that one but I don't remember how much.

I miss my pitbull. She died about 7 years ago.

She was 13 years old. Towards the end, she was totally blind but knew exactly where everything was and going deaf but she was still able to kill my brother's pigs that were about 10 lbs by grabbing their head and pulling them through the panels outside in the yard. To this day, he still doesn't know she killed them and I ain't telling him.

Oh let's not talk about our faithful friends . I had a Boxer , she passed away at 13 years old , she had a heart attack the week before Christmas about 5 years ago and I miss
her so much , especially around Christmas , her name was Sheba , and she was a true lady and 1st class friend .

She was so jealous of Kathy , my wife while we were

Kuntrygirl ---- that test would be looking at ink blotted cards and telling the people in white uniforms what they looked liked . And you can't say chicken to everyone of them or duck . hehehehe:gig:oops:
