I've got my first Basques hatching from my birds today! I HAD to check fertility you know! . I just wish they would pick up with the laying. Some days I get 3 from them then they'll drop down to 1. So inconsistent right now.

I have some Channing Grisham Welsummers - same line as my original Wellies, I lost my rooster so could not continue that line & my hens are old so I hope I get some more - shipped eggs so you never know what will happen -

rest are a couple of "mutts" (RIR roo and Wellie hens) & some of my pure RIR eggs - and yes, Jeff, I'm looking forward to seeing if this generation is as nice & laid back as the parent stock, too -- I sure have been impressed with them so far!

btw Brinsea has their annual Dec sale on right now - $30 off regular price of the Octagons....not that I"m being an enabler or anything (we have Jeff for that)!
