"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

That's awesome! LOL. And actually, one of the ones I want to see is on a 1+ acre lot in Brusly.

Three hens is NOT enough!!  I'm been looking into rural tracts and even considering moving just outside of the city. I'm already having problems with chicken math, and I don't even own any yet.  :p

Maybe you should look in Brusly. My mayor told me I could have a giraffe if I want! No ordinance of any kind. Woot!

A giraffe? Go for it !!!!!!!!! :weee

Along those lines, does anyone know where I can find a map of the city limits of Baton Rouge? I tried to google it and nothing came up. I'm thinking I can get out of the city limits without going very far from the grandkids in Riverbend (where I currently live). Just dreaming for now, but would love to know the options.

Sounds like you have your chicken math just right. Let's see..allowed 3, buy 10 and end up with 15: That sounds about right to start. Just watch out for the long term chicken math because it seems to use exponents!

The rough weather is starting to roll in. Gosh, we got around 4" of rain overnight last night and it just started pouring again. At this rate, I won't get my spring garden in the ground on time. I have about 13 days till time to plant and have standing water in half the garden.

I've looked into the city limits before. It's really quite strange. Bluebonnet and Siegen aren't even in "the lines". I seriously doubt I could plop two big ol' turkeys in my condo's backyard.

I've been looking inside the limits as well. I kinda look around and see if everyone has the same mailbox or if all the grass is cut to exactly 2 inches. I can't stand most homeowners associations.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. Lockdown starts tonight. The sky will fall out for 10 minutes and then stop and be sunny for a while. I guess that's Louisiana.

Tips for imprinting birds? I know to handle them in short rounds so they don't get cold, but I'm going on a trip a few days after hatch.
