"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Terri, I have 1 goose eggs rocking and rolling and pipping. I had cracked the egg last week and I put some wax over it, so I scraped the wax off last night and I felt the egg rocking and I heard the baby pipping. Not it will be a long wait. I have read that it can take 2 - 3 days before the baby comes out of the shell. :/

:weee Yes I remember it took a couple of days when I had geese for the babies to hatch. Congratulations!!!

Thanks but I'm still Nervous Nelly. This is kiling me. I hope it survives that dry membrane. I hope that I don't kill it. :hit

Congrats on the hatch!!!! How much more hatching will you do for the year?

Oh, A LOT!!!!

I have 40 some Beltsville turkey eggs in, about 30 Pomeranian goose eggs and adding more every couple of days, about 20 duck eggs, 12 Black Orpington, 12 Delaware, 11 Basque, some Dark and WL Red Cornish, 12 Lavender Ameraucanas (from Mike LaMike), 12 Bourbon Red turkeys (pre-ordered a couple months ago and arrived yesterday), have 12 Barnevelders coming next week, still have 8 French White Muscovy eggs developing, and 9 Narragansett turkeys for now.

I took this picture this morning after I unpacked the eggs that arrived this morning (basque and Narragansett). I put the Delawares in two days ago, and loaded the Orpington, Bourbon Red, and Ameraucanas this morning. The Brinsea has the Muscovy eggs in it since they require such high humidity, and I have one of the Styrofoam tabletop incubators filled with eggs from my Beltsville turkeys too.

I have 30+ goslings pre-ordered as well as about that many turkey poults, plus we have a bi-weekly local chicken sale where I am a vendor. So, after I grow the birds out enough to pick through them, probably around 5 months for the first round, I can take the ones I am not keeping there and sell. We have a Facebook page, and most of what I take is reserved before I even pack it into the car. At this point, I mostly sell my mealworms though. I sold almost 16,000 this month just at the sale.

Yes, mine have been laying for a couple months now.

I thought you had told me yours were. Are you in any better position to ship yet? If so, I will message you the one lady's phone number and you can text her if you'd like.

No. Because of my hectic day work hours I still can't get to the post office during regular hours and the weekend are still out for right now. I only have pick up orders right now. :/

Let me know when that changes. I will tell Sandi you may have some, but it will be at least a couple more weeks before they would be available.

I may be showing at the Central Club's April 20th show in Jennings, which isn't too far from you. If that happens, I would be in your neck of the woods to maybe do an egg pickup next month. I haven't decided yet though. I need to take a long hard look at my Dorkings and bath my new WL Red Cornish once it warms up a bit to really evaluate them.

If anyone lives around Jennings. They have a chicken thief. He took the hens first then came back for the roo. They got him on video but have not yet caught him. Glad I have a watch dog in my back yard!!!

Isn't that still a hanging offense just as horse thievery is? If not it ought to be, well there ought to be a lot more things hanging offenses if my opinion counts for much. :rant You know, eventually if there were enough PUBLIC hangings(like they used to be) things would get rectified, the bone yards may be overflowing but still yet....;)

Jeff

ps Good mornin' La-yers and BYCers too I'm not all in a bad mood this mornin', LOL

Yes it is still a hanging offence. Hope they get the person!!!

X2. Are pea eggs bigger than those eggs on the second to last shelf? Those are BIG eggs.

Those are my goose eggs. Most of the ones in the front are the small ones. I get some REALLY big eggs from them. This was when they were in my Brinsea. The one laying down prevented the lid from coming anywhere near closing. The ones marked Jean are from my 3 year old goose and the rest from my first year girls. I get about 20 +/- of those a week!

At the risk of sounding super dumb, do you eat the eggs or sell/hatch them all?
