"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Anybody know when the next Covington swap is? My stepdad wants to bring some stuff. You can check out his website at: http://www.pineywoodpoultry.com/
April 14th

Gracie, if he has about 3 or 4 young Mallard hens please let me know. How are the Buffs doing for him? They look good on his site! I may have someone interested in chicks if he has any to sell at the swap.

Chris,

Having some fertility issues with them, so he is probably going to have to find a new rooster. They aren't laying too bad, but less than half are fertile! I'll ask him about the mallards. I don't think he has any extra right now, but I might be able to find some over here to send with him if he goes. I can sex ducklings and goslings, so I should be able to find you some females.

Thanks everyone!  I guess it's just one of those things.  Just sucks!

I am so sorry about your latest happenings Gracie!!

On a bright note, the silkie girls are settling in really well in Baton Rouge! We are building an additional run for them this weekend! I will post pictures when we are done! Thank you again!

Hi everybody, I'm back! anybody miss me?

Our internet went down yesterday & finally came back up just now.

Will catch up later -- we just came in to take a break from cutting grass (aka: dandelions & weeds, lol) for the first time this year & checked & have internet again -- yay! except that I am on deadline for my magazine column that I write, so I have to get to work before I can play!

Terri, I was wondering where you were. I thought that I would have to drive down there to check on you and Jim and the critters. Glad to know that you are up and running. :D

He may have to pull the vent feathers on the hens. I know the guy that I got them from was/is doing the same thing with his girls. I think it's a size thing but I'm not sure.

On the Mallards if you can find some at a reasonable price I would be interested. I'm looking for some girls that I can turn loose out in the pond now. I really don't want any chicks! Either way just let me know!

Thanks,
Chris

Hi Y'all!!!

My husband and I moved out to Clinton, Louisiana last year. We are just now starting our adventure of having chickens. Our sweet neighbor bought us our first 10 beautiful 1 year old Buff Orpingtons. We've had them since Saturday (March 30, 2013). Our ladies are so pretty!

Glad to meet y'all!
