"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Yea his WR's are really nice. I don't know if I'm going to get any this year and besides I really don't have room for them at the moment. Heck I don't even know how many birds I have right now and I'm scared to count-em!
I think your right about Terri. I do remember that now that you mentioned it.

Chris

UGH!! All these pretty chickees

but NO ONE lives near me!

I live near you!! But, I don't think that counts for anything :)

EXACTLY!!!!!!

I went out of town for 1 weekend and the "egg picker" that I thought could pick eggs couldn't do that. Poor thing. And I walked through the process and left sticky notes posted and instructions and directions. It was a disaster. Seriously????? Picking eggs???? Really?????? Is it that hard to pick eggs?????

So, I'm back to square one. I can't leave town until after 5pm when all eggs are picked and I have to make sure that I'm back within 24 hours.

There has got to be a better way to do this. Now just imagine if I asked them to mix the fermented feed.

They would look at me like I was crazy.

Too bad we not closer... I love to pick eggs! :) I'm sure they would have run screaming! If they couldn't handle picking the eggs, then I doubt very seriously that they would have been interested to "play" in the soupy feed.

Also - I do very much agree with NOLAchicks - a girl takes a couple days off, and it takes almost a whole day to catch up! That's okay.. I needed to "decompress" after studying all weekend. Three more tests and then I get to PLAY the rest of the summer!!! YEAH! :)

I think I saw where Terri said she was going to show up but not to show off, LOL

Wished I could ol boy but I'm in the same fix as Julie nobody here to do the job half @$$ alright so I gotta be here everday till sundown then I have to go to bed. LOL Thats what I get for having umpteen dozens of chickens huh?My hobby, gotta luv'um.

Hey I got some of those WR eggs(14) from J-whip(XW poultry farm) in the cooker as we speak I'm hoping to get a couple of killer lookers outta that. this might be my crank-up for a showing start, maybe? we shall see

Jeff
Yep i'll be there but only for a short time -- I have to get back & be at work by noon.
Yep, that's right - got me a part time job now, in fact started it already.
With our neighbor -- Inglewood Plantation

You think you all have chickens? guess what? I'm handling 650+ chickens now! and 75 ducklings!

Gracie, that is very strange about that double egg. I feel so sorry for the hen that layed that "goose egg". I bet she was mad at that rooster for a few days.

Julie, congrats on selling off your geese.

Fermenting feed sounds like too much work to me too. Like Gracie said, if you're not trying to hold down a full time job that may be OK but, I would guess that most of us work, have family responsibilites, etc., and the animals are a hobby and enjoyment for us. When it stops being enjoyable because there's way too much work to keep up with then it defeats the purpose of enjoyment. My animals are therapy for me. Instead of paying a shrink to help me to relax and get rid of stress I spent time playing/visiting with my animals. You know, I think a shrink would be cheaper.

Wow! They were generous! Think of all the possibilites there! Wine bucket, feeders, nest boxes. I might have to call a bakery over here myself!

My hubby brings these little one gallon buckets from work that are great for around the house use. Seems like they disappear all the time though! I had a stack about that tall, and I have no clue where they all went!
I found three cases of sherbert containers, no lids though. They are just perfect for potted plants. I was out picking them up all over the road, two of the boxes had busted. a state trooper pulled up behind me and put his lights on. I about crapped my pants! He took the info off of the box and would charge the company for littering. He grew up two doors down from me! He helped me load as many of them as we could get into the van. He kept me safe in my hour of stupidity. I think we had almost 1000 of them!
