"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I enjoyed meeting Brandy (Mzstre) and Celie this weekend.  We picked up birds and bunnies.  Hubby is now on the hunt for a good loquat tree after tasting them at Brandy's house.   Happy Monday everyone!

It was great to meet y'all as well! I'm going to order shoe covers so I can safely bring others to the back to meet my birds. I'll be able to give you the tour if you're ever back in the area.

How is the SFH boy? He was my sweetheart...followed me everywhere. I hope he's ok!

I have loquats scattered all over the property that have self seeded in the woods on the property after storms...many seedling/saplings I dig monthly. I have a few larger ones I haven't attempted to dig up yet. (The woods here are brutal with mosquitos and stick crunching creatures lol I'm working my way up to longer trecks) but until then I have smaller ones I trade all the time! So if he can't find a grown one let me know, happy to share.
Thank you! I will keep that in mind.

Based on his bad comb over looking hairdo we named him Trump. Every time I looked at the crest feathers I thought of Donald Trump's bad hair do and couldn't resist! He is a dear. LOVE HIM! I'm afraid of shipping any live birds with our temps already warm, so I guess I'm just going to go with eggs from KYTinpusher. I don't know anyone else within driving distance that would have a SFH pullet for him. Until I grow some ladies out for him he'll just get a few random ladies. Keep things spicy!

I find that these shoe covers are great.

Love the chick pics and the pea eggs!  About time those girls started earning their keep.  Oddly enough, out of my d'uccles, the mille hen was an every other day layer and the gold necks laid daily.  The gold necks have all slacked off -- I'm getting one egg a day from the three of them.  The mille hen is now laying daily.  The porcelain hens STILL aren't laying and I've had them since early February.  I wormed them and one laid an egg the next day but then quit again.  If they don't lay soon their freeloading days will be over.:rant

I also took in a lavender orp roo from a lady whose husband didn't want any roosters. He looks almost a year old.  He was pleasant when he arrived and we had no problems with him in his quarantine pen--then Friday evening he had a go at me.  I am scarred to prove it.  Meanie!  We are going to spend the next 2 weeks of his remaining quarantine carrying him through the yard trying to get him used to us.  I hope I can break him of the habit.  Otherwise I'll have to wait on my other 4 month old cockerel to mature enough to go in with our lav girls.
