"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

new to byc too... im here in Pearl River Louisiana... we bought two goslings from the ag store down the road.. everyone in there is so friendly and helpful... just like everyone on here... tons of info and some really cool pics and great stories... this is an amazing site

Just got the bees yesterday! So far so good...they seem happy buzzing by lol and they stayed! Not much work involved, thought it'd bee* harder O.O
Did you order your bees or buy locally? I've been looking into starting with a top bar hive. It doesn't produce as much honey as the traditional Langstroth hives, but it doesn't require near the equipment needed to harvest the honey. I was looking at this one on ebay.

Most of the puppies seem to be doing well, but the little runt is just so tiny. I tried to bottle feed him yesterday, and he took a little bit of it. This morning he seemed really weak and wanted nothing to do with it. I gave him back to mom and am hoping for the best. Mom is taking very good care of them!

I didn't like the puppy setup I started with, so I went home and made a larger whelping box out of the extra cedar boards I had left over from my fence. It came out really well, and Milla seems to really like the extra room. I may be a little biased, but I think she looks really good for just delivering 10 puppies!

I don't think things are looking good for my goose eggs :(

Sorry to hear that. What's going on with your eggs?

Neither are mine. With all the misting and cooling EVERY day, I fell asleep one night while the goose eggs were cooling and I didn't wake up until 7 hours later and they had been out all that time. This weekend was lock down but I think I messed up when I feel asleep. I see some are zipping but I don't think it's looking good. I have ruined 6 goose eggs!!! I am so mad at myself. I have to buy a timer to go off in the future so I can time the goose eggs. Hatching goose eggs is NO fun! It's too much that you have to do. I will let the yard incubators hatch from here on out. Too much for me. :/
