"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Jim said she has the nest in the same spot as she did this spring - unfortunately, now the soybean crop is up. It's at the base of an old dead tree in the middle of the soybean field. He spotted her going in & out of there yesterday while he was trying to cut grass in between rain showers.

Soooo, do I want to wade through waist-deep soybeans, running an excellent chance of stepping on a snake, to forage through the weeds & limbs & poison ivy at the base of that tree to find her eggs?

I think not. I think she can hatch them herself.

Hey if she does show up with a passel of those little critters and you don't want them holler at me I'll sure put them in nice wooded area full of mice, crites and vermin they love to forage on. For sure. LOL

Not counting the squirrels running around with strips stuck to them looking for water to cool down their burning mouths. I am missing about 10 strips that are no where to be found. Lol

I can't wait to see some squirrel wearing my fly strips. I'll try to get a foto.
Wait till it makes local news...scientists can't figure out why the squirrels are losing their hair...it must be some new type of parasite....

We are the butt state, they never look at us. If they did we might actually be able to find out what those random unusual creatures were in pastures and swamps (like the spider I have that is the size of a daddy long legs, looks like a crab shell, and is black with yellow strips). If the weather man would ever move they might see us...

We could get a little notice by turning a few of the gas/or oil valves down to simmer/or a trickle or plum off LOL

Like the camel on the TV commercial
WHA WHAT! they'd be saying "ho'od ever thunkit"

So true! I think the spider might be a "crab spider". I had one similar, except it's shell was white and black. I can handle snakes, but spiders...

not so much!!! I've come a long way since I've had kids...I don't go "all girl" if I come across a spider now...I kill it! Then, I do a full body shiver!

Oh PLEASE don't give me ANY ideas!  I'm a sucker for animals.  I think they play such an important role in kids lives.  If my eight year old (Matthew) persists long enough, I may set some ground rules and give in.  It will take a while though, I need to make sure he continues to help with the chickens with his current enthusiasm.

I understand. My granddaughter started with chickens and after a year I have into the bunnies. Now it's pigs but fortunately I can't have pigs in my subdivision. So she says, "then sell your house Nanny." Actually I have thought of that.

I found out for sure what is happening to my fly strips. I hope you can see how much squirrel fur is on them (a lot). It must have gotten free by rapping it around that branch because most of the strips just dissapear.

There's some poor squirrel running around without any hair!!!!

At least you'll be able to spot who the culprit was.
That gives me an idea. I will try laying the fly strips on the ant piles. They definitely won't be able to move their ant mound to another place. :lau

I have an issue when the body of the spider is bigger than my head. I know the small ones were identified, but this big one is blocking one of the paths in the pasture to my pond. I am NOT the idiot to try to move it, I take the other path now. I swear we have our own Eco system down here just waiting to be discovered by some poor lab rat.

Bee said for her ants she sprays dawn dish soap on the hill. She doesn't have crazy ants but it is worth a try.

Ok, full body shiver...

and at my age, that is NOT attractive! Things keep jiggling long after the shiver stops.
