This evening I have been watching a live webcast from a town meeting that is to discuss amendments to their hobby farm laws. Some of the things people say are just dumb. No other way to put it. I happened upon this by way of Chicken Chick on fb. She is there and its her webcam on ustream.tv. Why on earth would you need 5 acres to have chickens??? Just dumb. And dogs are way louder any day of the week in my opinion. And she apparently has the neighbor from hell where chickens are concerned. Krabby Karl. Poor lady, hope they win their fight.


Oh and there is this. If you have 2 acres, you can have a horse......but no chickens. That requires 5 acres

I wonder how many people have gotten rabies for a chicken bite??? Are we now going to have to post signs in our yard, beware of the chickens? ??
 
I'm sorry. Just had to go there. I remember having to fight city hall to have my chickens. They ask some of the dumbest questions. I can't even sell the eggs. So I trade them to the feed store for feed and they sell them.

They make it hard to sell us made items. How can the shipping from China possibly be cheaper than the wages here?

Are they bigger than a horse? I would love to see a chicken that requires more space and feed than a horse!

This is the fb page of the lady that I referred to earlier. She reported that the meeting went well and that the health dept report proved Krabby Karl to be a liar.

I believe there is also a video on her ustream of the town meeting. Its kind of hard to hear though unless you use headphones or earbuds.


One of Karls complaints is that her chickens reduce property value. lol

I'm glad her meeting went well. If we ever look for a new place, the first thing I do will check with the city hall on this kinds of issues.
 
I was always taught that crawfish must be cooked live and if you can smell fish its bad. I have always bought live ones and won't buy fish from most grocery stores for this reason. I may have been taught wrong, but I'll stick by it as I have not gotten sick once from either. Now, my mother on the other hand never listened to my father and still to this day buys crab meat and crawfish from the frozen section and "fresh" fish from Albertson's. She gets sick every time and wonders why.
